I cant believe he thought Kubrick did a poor job
I like his early novels. I enjoyed
Thinner and
It the most; both terribly adapted.
Stand by Me and
Hearts In Atlantis were better movies than stories. I don't know if King had anything to do with the films, but short stories are different anyway.
DeadZone was good too; good performance from Mr Walken.
Yes, ESPECIALLY the ones he has a hand in.

"Desperation," in which he wrote the screenplay, is abominable. I love the book, though. His made for TV "The Shining" was a piece of monkey poo, imo, but Kubrick's is a masterpiece.
"Hearts in Atlantis," speaking of masterpieces

, was a magnificent, serious book, probably my very favorite King book to date (I have it on good authority that "Lissey's Story" is amazing as well, really shows, as in "Hearts in Atlantis," King's beautiful *literary* writing, which many "literati" underestimate), but I didn't like the film at all.
Richard, nothing wrong with liking what you like! Me, I loved "IT" both the film and the book, but a lot of people I know, some of them writers I respect, HATE it. And I was totally freaked out by "The Grudge," had a really great time with that film, but I am, apparently, in the minority on that.
