It seems like it. The universe magically appearing from nowhere.

Since magic is a part of our atom structure and part of source within the universe perhaps here is a thought
Each universe is one cell one strand triggered by the thought of creator and creation

No magic was involved in the making of this universe.

There is no such thing as magic.

If that's the case, then there was no Big Bang. The Big Bang if it occurred was magic, or did something cause it to happen?

Begging the Question and Circular Logic. You have presumed that only "magic" could have caused the Big Bang, when there is no valid empirical evidence for the existence of "magic".

Evidence, please?
NewTime wrote:

Causality, being a principle of ordinary linear time, implies that something caused the Big Bang. However, whatever evidence as to what that something was was also lost in the intense energy of the Big Bang. Just because no one knows what that something was does not mean that it was magic; it means that we just don't understand the cause.

There are a few hypothesis that have been proposed about what caused the big bang. The big crunch, the inflaton field, the cyclic brane multiverse, and the simulated multiverse just to name a few. No magic necessary. If you are asking questions like this though, I might as well turn it around and ask what created God.

"When technology becomes advanced enough it eventually becomes indistinguishable from magic..."

...getting a whole entire forum to make use of these aliens memes on another forum for two years in a row was fun.

I think it was just a big bang.

But I wasn't there and I din't hear it, so I can't judge.

compared to the universe we are so unimportant to discuss such a thing. it's arrogance
to even try to figure out the very beginning of dat great universe

i mean

what we think of as a truth = a truth from a human brain's point of view = meh

Sooo... We shouldn't even speculate about such things because... Reasons? I don't get it.

because the fact that the universe can be understood by human beings /laws of nature are comprehensible to the human mind
doesn't mean that u can ask/know what's beyond/more than certain things

i mean at the end of the day science can answer/describe how not why things are so

also the first thing that jumps into my mind when i see questions that seem more spiritual than scientific
is that there is no absolute truth

on a side note
personally for some reason i don't take pple who say/claim that they "believe only in science" seriously.

Oh, speculation is fine, as long as no one claims it to be fact.

It's better when backed up with maths.

It's even better when proven with a valid demonstration.

So ... what level is the "Create Universe" spell again? What are its verbal, somatic, and material components?

Speculation is the beginning of the Scientific Method, and the goal of religion.
