Alright so if you notice you've been bitten by a spider...what bothers you more about it that it itches? or the fact that a spider had to crawl on you to bite you?

I find the latter seems to bother me a bit more.

thankfully i don't remember having ever been bitten by a spider, but if a spider did bite me, my first thought would be " 8O crap! there are spiders that kill you! and that's pretty much all i know about them!". needless to say, i would probably freak out...

but yes, between the itching and the crawling, it would be the crawling, no doubt

I have such bad skin sensory issues that the itch will bother me more than knowing I had a spider on me. I'd be like "Aw little spider -- aaahhh gaddamn that itches!"

I live in Australia.
If you get bitten by a spider here you probably won't be bothered by anything ever again, if you know what I mean.

There are no more sensory issues in a nice velvet-lined wooden box!

Well, you'd probably be bothered for a short time by excruciating pain, vomiting and muscle spasms and then you'd never be bothered by anything again.

Don't know much about Australia.
All we have around here are
Wolf, brown recluse and black widow.
Also daddy long legs who eat lots of other insects.

At a show earlier today I was discussing those itches you can't scratch in public.

Burn spiders in the deepest level of hell with Satan and never let them out, ever and then burn the universe that hell exists in. I don't want them anywhere near me, I am extremely arachnophobia. My heart is beating like I am on crack looking at spiders on Google images. If you dying on the other side of a door that has spiders on it, you are really screwed with me.

Yes its the latter to answer your question, but that should be pretty clear from this post.

Yeah also though can be a bit hard to tell if it's a spider, I usually assume it is if I look closely and it has two little holes for the spider fangs(or whatever the correct term is) but might be other bugs with similar biting apparatuses to. There are a couple venous spiders here so I make sure and keep an eye on bites I think are from a spider just in case...since if it was one of those the wound would start getting worse rather than healing in which case I could go to the hospital.

I remember the first time someone told me about brown recluse spiders. I wasn't from the region and had never heard of a spider whose bite could actually cause necrosis of your skin, being from a place where there's there are very few animal forms that can do you serious harm. It was both fascinating and absolutely hideous to learn about.

Yeah, you guys have some scary spiders there...as well as animals of other kinds as well even the platypus is venomous from what I understand.

I usually kill those if I see them around near my house, as they aren't as timid as the black widows which really only bite if you were to mess with them. I actually kind of like black widows but I know it's best just to look at them.

I never did get to see one -- at least I hope I didn't and maybe didn't know it! But I did encounter scorpions, eek. Although, the little ones I saw, people said it only hurts as bad as a bee sting if they get you. "Only"! A bee sting is pretty darn bad to me too.

Uhh, the daddy long legs creep me out the most even though they can't even bite people. Though they aren't really spiders they're opiliones, still arachnids I guess but classified as having one body segment.

I've never been bitten by a spider, but I'm sure I would be much more bothered by the bite. Especially if it was a very dangerous type of spider, which are fortunately extremely rare or non-existent where I live.

That old english teachers saying.

"If it moves, it's venomous.
If it doesn't move, it's poisonous."

Takes on a whooooole new meaning in Australia. :D

My favourite Australian spider would have to be the huntsman, they're big but not especially dangerous.
It's kind of funny that the big scary looking spider, is actually one of the nicest and least dangerous.
