I've been told by a Student in my College Class that I act British, about 12 years ago. I was taken by suprise, when he told me that. It's okay to tell me the Truth. I'm a very big fan of Honesty. Everybody knows me pretty well, by now and I'd appreciate some input.

Another question has popped into my head. Do I act like a Londoner?

Which Londoner?
The City yuppies driving 911's who would not be seen dead on an omnibus?
The Bangladeshi community of Brick Lane?
The cheerful and dodgy dealers of the street markets?...
"'Ere y'are guv, cheaper than stolen!" (Whitecross Street Market, 1970's)
The Sloane Rangers with their Chelsea Tractors?
The thin wiry and suicidal bicycle messengers, the odd folk holding out religious or English language leaflets, and the seething masses of office workers and shoppers on Oxford Street?

Big place, London.
Oh. we missed the dark-suited, repressed, bowler-hatted city gent.

And how does one acting British differentiate them from acting like a Londoner?

That's what I've kept on asking myself, over the years. That guy who was in my Class, might have been having some Dillusions, that day.

I'm a Londoner trapped in a Canadian body and I want to be free.

The cheerful and dodgy dealers of the street markets.

Or

Knees up Muvva Brahn! Oi!

I don't mean to act like a Londoner, if I do so. It just happens. It's what seperates me from the Valley Girls.

I apologise for the generalization, but I've always painted a picture of the British Population as being polite and civilized, until I've read about the recent Youth Cultures. But apart from a few of the Youth, I still paint a Regal picture of the British Population. I see some Londoners as being even more civilized than the way that I see the general population of Britian, while I see other Londoners as being more Cheeky and Cheerful. I'm aware that these are generalizations, and I'll apologise before hand, if I'm offending anybody.

London is a gargantuan toilet - a dark, dangerous, alienating s**thole of a place. Why on earth would you want to go there?

You seem to think that London (and Britain as a whole) is still in the 1950s/1960s. The country has changed massively. There are some nice people, and some not very nice people. Just like anywhere else in the world. And scum are everywhere - even in nice areas these days.

I get told by a lot of people, that I'm stuck in the 1960s.

Well, if you didn't know a decade ago, best you look up your very own grass roots right 'ere.

I'm feeling cockney spirited all of a sudden, and my favourite soap needs to remind people about it.
