The other day, I bought a bottle of Nestle iced tea syrup, thinking it would be like those little bottles of concentrate with the artificial sweeteners that you squirt into a water bottle. Turns out it wasn't, since it was actually made from tea, sugar, water, and lemon flavoring. It was kind of a neat product, but it ran out on me very quickly, so that got me thinking that I could make my own using stuff I've already got, which would allow me to save money AND avoid supporting Nestle ('cuz let's face it, they're evil).
Anyway, I came across this recipe, but I'm not entirely sure if it's what I'm looking for. The store-bought syrup came in a 420ml bottle, and had enough syrup for 7 litres of iced tea, or 28x250ml servings. I'm wondering how I could tweak this recipe in order to replicate the syrup I bought before. http://www.food.com/recipe/iced-tea-syrup-382338
I wasn't sure where to post this, since we don't really have a dedicated board for food or chemistry.
