Rugby is rugby.
What you call football in the US, we call American football.

Football to me is two teams of men or women who pass an inflated ball around a field using their feet.

The only person in a game of football who is supposed to touch the ball with his/her hands is the goal keeper. There is one goal keeper per team and he/she would stand in goal, one of which is situated at each end of the field/pitch.

The only exception to this is if the ball has to be thrown in from the sidelines.
