I know a lot of aspies are hypersensitive, and it made me wonder: how well do we tolerate spicy foods? I can stand a little spiciness, but not much, and I'm generally just as happy with it being not spicy at all. What about you guys? Does anyone here actually like spicy food?

I sure as heck do but I'm NT. My partner is an Aspie and he does too though. The hotness doesn't seem to bother him.

I love spicy food, and I seem to have a pretty decent tolerance for it, as well.

I especially like spicy-sweet foods, but I don't think I have an above-average tolerance or anything.

My younger brother and boyfriend (both of which have Aspergers) LOOOOVE spicy food. I personally can barely handle the "mild" salsa, haha.

I want to point out that, while I don't like anything above mild-level spiciness, I believe that's just because of my personal tastes, not because of any sensitivity issues.

As long as it's not too spicy.

Absolutely. I love spicy food!

Bland flavours really aren't my thing. I need my food to have something a bit powerful to it, whether sweet or savoury.

I used to eat a ton of spicy food. I once put 8 dried ghost peppers in a pot of chili. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to eat spicy foods for the last year or so because I've been having chronic heartburn.

LOOOOOVE it. Vindaloos, chilli, hot sauce... the spicier the better!

No. I can handle mild spiciness, but I don't like it.

Spicy food is great, but a lot of people have to build up a tolerance to it. :skull:

I like to use Mexican hot sauces, especially the green kind (not sure of the name).

I love hot and spicy food but my GI tract increasingly doesn't.

My bf bought 15 bottles of ridiculous hot chilli sauce. I don't know why he does it to himself. I can even hear him in pain doing spicy poos sometimes.

Sunday night was hilarious, my friends boss bought a naga chilli alcohol shot that he had to SIGN a document for from the manager. It did not end well, not for him anyway, everyone else died laughing.

Me myself though I can only handle something mild, I don't see the point otherwise cause it just destroys your taste buds. Maybe that's why people who smoke a lot usually like spicy food.
