I'm sick of freezing. Sick of the rain. I'm ready to run to Arizona. I'm in California btw. 50 degrees and non stop rain. Power outages , floods and high PG&E bills.

If it is 50F here considered that is considered mild this time of the year. You are in the middle of a series of major storms in California which must be especially jarring after years of severe drought. Your 60+ sunny weather was here over the weekend and is coming back later this week.

We have some snow but mostly icy roads here. I don't mind the dark at all, and the winters don't generally get that cold anymore (and when they do it's only for a few days). We usually just see a few degrees below 0 C.
But I hate hate hate the icy roads. Whether they're icy due to hard stomped snow or actual ice is irrelevant. I fall or at best slide uncontrollably equally good. And of course the one who is in charge of scattering pebbles on the roads around the residential area does a lousy job of it every year.
That is the part of winter I really hate. I would love to see good rain come and wash away all the snow and ice from the roads (and not freeze at night).
The power bill is always high because our "dear" government is so preoccupied with selling cheap power to Europe and take us Norwegians with our relatively cold winters to the cleaners.
I don't like what the cold weather does to my asthma and my skin either.

While it's nice here in Arizona right now, a couple months from now it will be like 110F out almost every day and there really is no escape from heat like that besides just staying out of it. It can get cold here too at night, kind of a bonechilling coldness. We've been getting rain and milder temperatures last week or so too. Utilities aren't cheap here either, you should see the bill in the summer. 8O

It's very mild here in NYC. It was about 65 yesterday, and is supposed to go up to near 70 later in the week.

Today, it'll be a crisp upper 40's, still above normal for this time of year.

Even Minneapolis has been near 60 for a few days.

If you think winter in California is bad, can you imagine how it's like in Nova Scotia, Canada, where I live? We had maybe at least three blizzards last week and mountains of snow everywhere.

My brother, who lives in New Brunswick, has it even worse. Although the winters are shorter there's even more snow. He's pretty sick of it.

Still, I don't envy you. I wouldn't trade places ever, even if I could.

I know you've had at least 3 blizzards which dumped at least about 30 cms of snow.

In 2011, New York City had about 100 cms of snow on the ground from late December to early March.

It's been fairly mild here but very windy. Storm Doris is coming in something wicked right now.

I love the name Giovanni BTW ;)

Langley has gotten a lot of snow this winter. We've had 7 snowfalls this winter, most of them in December. Now that all the snow is gone, we're expecting another snowfall on Friday. I wish spring would come. I'm tired of winter.
