When I was little and always came home from school at the same time every day, Flo would sit at the window around 3:30 waiting for me, because she's missed me and new I'd be home soon.

Cow Kitty jumps up on the chair and waits for people to pet her when people come in.

No, I am usually the first one home. I sit by the window and howl until she returns.

My first cat would sit a the corner of our block and wait for me to walk home from school. Then she would walk in front of me from the corner to our house, I guess to make sure I didn't get lost.

Once, several years back, when I had a roommate, Natasha would go to the door about 15 minutes before I would get home from work and start crying. It drove my roomate nuts. I worked a varied schedule, so some days I got off at 5 and others at 9. So Natasha would go to the door a litlte after 5 and cry. Then if I wasn't home by 5:20, she's go off and then come back around 9 and cry again.

Nowadays, none of them really wait for me on a daily basis. They just start behaving badly if I'm not home when I should be, especially the boys. If I go out of town, Antony and Cordelia will go outside and refuse to come back in for whomever is watching them. They'll hold out until they get too hungry, but they've been known to stay outside for 3 days at a time (although I have my cat sitters make sure there's food and water for them if they do stay out that long). It's common for me to come home from a trip and have to round up Antony and Cordy from wherever they're hiding outside.

Natasha's old enough now (she's 15) to know I always come home. So she just waits now, defiantly ignoring the cat-sitters, and then chews me out for abandoning her when I get home. My youngest, Lemony seems to get stressed, but then after a few days of my absence, he just starts sucking up to whomever is cat-sitting.

Fenchurch waits for me when she knows I've just nipped out to the shop up the road.
