Supposedly drinking water upside down gets rid of it. Perhaps it's because you get a shock when you spill it all over yourself.

I ways thought if its from a gas pocket if one merely holds ones breath long enough CO2 levels should rise to the point to cause gaseous diffusion into /out of the pocket to break it up. So I hold my breath to get ride of them.

Hard to breath will actually solve it. If anything you've breathing to fast. Same goes for hyperventilating. When you get lock jaw that ironically helps.

Ginger ale

Spoonful of peanut butter

Teaspoon of sugar and hold it under your tougue

Hold your breath and slowly bite your knuckles one by one over and over until you can't hold your breath anymore

Usually one of these works for me...I get them all the time.

I used to find this really effective - but as I have got older (and my asthma has become a problem) it has been less effective.

I normally find that drinking a glass of water helps - drinking it all in one go as this requires holding your breath anyway, but drinking the water 'distracts' you from the fact that you are just holding your breath to get rid of hiccups. Well, that is what I find anyway.

I guess it's worth a try.

As for the breathing difficulties, it might just be because of the hiccups, but if it seems to be more of an enduring problem, it might be worth speaking to your doctor about it.

I find that drinking a glass of water (or as much of it as you can) in one go works well. :)

LOL!

Actually my remedy is to hold my breath and stretch up, whilst drinking a glass of water. It almost always works............

Holding my breath nearly always works for me. The upside down drinking doesn't.
