yes, i enjoyed the acapucture and felt more energized for a few hours afterwards. It was before i was diagnosed with AS and was to treat depression. I would not expect any miracles; i did 10 weeks of acapuncture and herbs, it kept me off anti-depressants which i am reluctant to go back on. So i guess it was effective, (it was also expensive).
But if i get that depressed again, then i will go straight back on Prozac, it's much easier.

Never, I never trust alternative medicines. I might ask about other cures to complement modern ones, but not to replace them.

There was a study on acupuncture that showed that it could reduce pain neurologically according to some MRI scans. The key part was the turning of the needles. When they did not turn the needles it did not work. So it can affect the nervous system in some respect. It won’t affect the brain directly so you can pretty much rule out 'curing' AS. The same study showed that it wasn't effective against smoking.

I think it is probably effective in things like pain management, to a certain extent symptoms of anxiety.

Chinese medicine does have some credibility. It is fair to say they are understood blood circulation a long time before everyone else.

I ordered a Chinese medicine/acupuncture kit. I tried it once, but the needles got stuck in my throat and I had to go to the emergency room.

What were you trying to do? Eat the needles? Or are you doing a "Werbert"?
