Why is it usually better to stand out on the inside than the outside?

Because if you stand out on the inside it's easier to hide. If you stand out on the outside, it's visible to everyone, and even easier to draw negative attention (bullying, harassment, discrimination).

When it's ajar?

Do you think someone who a rocks a 90s hairstyle would stand out on the outside amongst the current fashion?

Better to stand out for the right reason than to stick out like a sore thumb. Now that I have social outlets, some based on my interests, I find I don't really need to talk about them all that often.

Jamesy, it would probably depend on the people in question. Some wouldn't notice, some wouldn't care, some would like it, some wouldn't like it.
Generally, I don't think it would stand out much, there are so many sub-cultures and simultaneous fashions these days.
