You can totally stand on a wall,

Take a chainsaw or sword or whatever and cut it open, place wall on floor and you are standing on a wall!

I guess that Kool and the Gang coulda said "by", rather than "on". Like "on" "by" only has one syllable, so it woulda fit the melody and the beat just as well, and wouldn't have confused the literal minded aspie guys (the very folks who most needed the band's musical wingmanship to stop being wallflowers). :D
