Not the most expensive necessarily, but what gift did you give that had the biggest impact on the recipient?

I gave a 1911 to a family member, he's a veteran and seemed to enjoy it.

I gave my heart and time to someone who was grieving. Her true love died of an overdose and I did what I could to console her. I really feel like that was the best thing I could do for anyone this year since I'm broke AF, estranged from my only family, my mother and just came out as bisexual. Add to that he was a very pure friend. He was the first person not to give me a hard time for my uniqueness. There are a lot of people on Earth that friend you for awhile then just drift off into their own lives. He wasn't one of those, so helping her grieve was self rewarding as well.

Each of us comes into this life with a finite amount of time, and when it's used up we're gone. I can't imagine anything more priceless than literally giving a portion of your life to comfort a grieving friend.

Hmm, toss up.

Took my 10yo God son with one of my brothers & my father to see the Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks hockey game a week or so before Christmas. Shark's are his team. He was excited to go for sure. I guess that's a thing for sports fans lol. Tickets were courtesy of my brother (he has 4 seasons tickets) so it didn't cost me money but certainly made an impact on the 10yo as neither of his parents would likely ever prioritize taking him to a NHL game.

Made a donation to Covenant House Vancouver, youth homeless shelter, and it was tripled by a wealthy donor who pledged to double-match donations up to $100K. My heart goes out to homeless kids, especially the gay ones who are homeless for that reason. I'm sure that bit of money will help change someone's life for the better.

Yes.

My dad used a Smith & Wesson .357 as his holdout piece during his time with the FBI - it's one of my most prized possessions.

I'm always going to applaud those who give of their time, and share what they have with those who have less. It feels very Christmas to me. :)

There have been a number of years where that was the best I could manage as well. :D

I made my parents some "Mad Libs" stories based on this storytelling game we play together.

I didn't give any gifts except my girlfriend asked me to buy her a couple things & her sister asked for something too while we were at a store. I don't think the gifts had much impact on them.
