Someone, who was a person, and did things.

That depends on what you define as technology. If it consists of using any natural or artificial tool to help achieve a purpose, then I guess some earlier life form must have "invented" it. If your definition is more advanced than that, then hominids and early humans invented it.

Now that I think about it, it sounds wrong to say that technology is "invented". THINGS are invented, not technology itself. Technology is a concept, not a thing.

WOOHOO, FIRST SERIOUS ANSWER!

Yeah I agree with the person above. Technology is an umbrella term that describes the progression of the innovation of tools and other things you can use to make things easier in life and/or more entertaining.

The first source of digital information was more than likely digits, or more commonly referred to as fingers, thumbs and toes. It's impossible to determine who the first human was that took cognitive advantage of that natural tool, that would eventually lead to collective intelligence and measurements of the Universe.

Evolution, both classical and cultural were definitely major contributors.

A certain African ape figured out how to fish for termites in termite mounds using twigs. Some of that apes descendants became the modern chimps (who still fish for termites), and other of its descendants became us (who build space shuttles). That ape (who lived around 8 million years ago) was "the inventor of technology".

I was going to go with Leonardo Da Vinci...not as the inventor of technology but as the inventor of things that are/were technological. Machines...yep!
