That's the one I always think of first; it was a big favourite at school/college discos when I was in my teens. I doubt that many of us even knew it was a cover version. I'm pretty sure it even had its own special kind of dance - I never could follow those, but I seem to remember lots of cheesy, hippy arm waving going on!

Immediately made me think of the scene from the film Contact where Dr Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster) is being driven through the circus that has gathered at the observatory and the song features very briefly.
