I love ice skating. I love moving as fast as possible on the ice and being brave enough to go in the middle. I don’t get to do it too much because most people I know don’t like it. I always try to invite people to ice skate but I hear the same things:
1. “Too cold.”
2. “I don’t want to fall.”
Does anyone else like ice skating?

I tried it once...fell a bunch of times...never tried it again lol. I'd practice as long as there are not other people watching me.

I haven't been in years, but I loved it as a kid. I even wanted to play ice hockey for a while, but unfortunately, it is really expensive.

I never been. Where I grew up barely had any freezing weather all winter so very few people have been ice skating there. I did try regular skating alittle as a kid & I totally s#cked at it. I do NOT have the motor-skills or coordination for it. I think ice skating is too dangerous for me.

I only taught myself to skate at the age of 17 - I was too scared before. I'm not very good, and have to kind of relearn it every time, but I like it.

I haven't skated since I was around 12, and even then I wasn't very good at it. In the winter the teacher would occasionally take the class to a skating rink, but I didn't go on the ice much. But then one day I learned how to push my skates so that I could move across the ice and manage to keep my balance.

But skates are murder on my feet and ankles and if I tried wearing them now it would be too painful and difficult to even stand up. I'm so envious of figure skaters, they look so graceful and agile. :) But of course, they've been training to skate like that for years.

My dad used to take me and my siblings to the ice skating rink when we were kids. I was pretty decent at ice skating. My brother and sister fell on their butts a lot and almost never got off the wall.

No, I've never liked skating (nor skiing). Both are murder for my ankle areas, I'm nit good at it and I think it's less fun than poking my eyes. I haven't been on skis since I was 8 and not been on skates since I was 11.

Love ice skating. Been doing it since I was 6. Really hard to do initially though, and it can hurt your ankles pretty bad.

Where I live, sometimes a lake could freeze up to a point where you can actually skate on there yourself.

I tried ice skating but I found it harder then Roller skating (which I was good at) now that I'm older and not as nimble as I was I wouldn't be able to do either.

I don't like it much. I remember one day at the age of 9 when some neighbourhood boys asked if I can skate faster than my younger sister and I told them I could. I made myself skate as fast as I possibly could and than I fell and broke my right ankle. I bet those two boys felt horrible after that happened. I've been skating a few times since than. I bet that I would be horrible on the ice now. I'm over 40 years old.

I love to watch figure skating on television. It was my favorite sport to watch before I got into tennis big time.

I was sort of forced to watch it as a kid. It was constantly on "Wide World of Sports." Ultimately, I developed a respect and a liking for it. This only occurred after I matured some.

I wanna try. I'd take the invitation if it was given to me.
As a child, I'm good with skating and enjoyed it. But I'm sure it's not the same thing of course. The sensation of cold won't stop me -- I'd rather savor the sensation of momentum and movement for it. I'm not afraid of falling.

Anyway... I never had an opportunity to. It doesn't snow from where I live.
And doing it on an artificial snow rink would cost me about equivalent to 3-6 USD per half an hour if not more expensive with less time allowed.
