Leggings + Jeans = Jeggings......
It's popular for women to wear leggings. Leggings with a denim print on them and therefore look like skin tight jeans are called "Jeggings".
My wife and I were somewhere recently where a woman was talking about a clothing website which has good deals on leggings and jeggings. We were at that function about a month ago, but last night at bedtime I was thinking about it and I asked my wife if she remembered the conversation about leggings. She did.
I told my wife that I already knew that if I asked that woman the next time we saw her about that website and if I asked her questions about leggings, jeggings, etc my wife would not want me to ask that woman such questions.
My wife said she didn't care what questions I'd ask that woman.
I asked my wife if leggings + jeans = jeggings, why don't we hear about keggings (leggings + khakis)?
Why don't we hear about ceggings (leggings + corduroy)?
Cheggings (leggings + chinos)?
My wife was not amused. I wasn't intentionally asking her those questions to be funny, per se. My wife said: "You're right, I don't want you to ask her those questions." I said: "I told you that's what you'd say."....
I couldn't leave it at that though, I told my wife I just had to make one more comment:
Why, if someone talks about jeggings is it presumed that jeggings is in reference to jeans? Jodhpurs are pants of a kind. Leggings + jodhpurs would = jeggings too.
My wife: "Stop! Just please, stop!"
I stopped, but I still was thinking about all of that admittedly trivial stuff.
