Just curious. I personally love them! My brothers though cant stand them and refuse to get on one.

(Im talking real, actual, true, well built rollercoasters. Not fair rides, or sketchy amusement parks.

I did when I was a kid, but now I don't think I could handle them.

I like roller coasters but as I am over 70, I find that I am physically getting too old to enjoy them. They are too jarring. The one I liked the most was a wooden roller coaster called The Beast at Kings Island just outside Cincinnati, Ohio. Built in-house by the park, it opened in 1979 as the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in the world. It flies down one mountain and up the next. The ride is 7,359 feet (2,243 m), spanning more than 35 acres (14 ha) and utilizing the surrounding terrain for many of its elements two lift hills contribute to the ride's duration of more than four minutes. It is sheer energy.

I never went on one. I was prone to motion sickness as a kid & I still can feel kinda queasy going up & down hills in a car or going fast with lots of sudden stops.

I used to love them but now I feel like I'm choking every time I get on a really fast ride or one that makes me go upside down.

There is one advantage to riding a roller coaster. It is one of the few places that you can scream at the top of your lungs in a socially acceptable manner. This allows you to purge stress energy stored in your neck. So if you ever ride a roller coaster make sure you scream at the top of your lungs during the ride.

No. I consider rollercoasters a way for humans to experience danger and risk artificially. The risk is minimal, although the senses are stimulated in a way to simulate real danger. Me, I do activities that are more dangerous -- off-trail hiking, riding a bicycle down a mountain at 60 MPH, backpacking in country where there are predators that could kill me -- not because I crave danger, but because I enjoy these activities, and am willing to accept the dangers that come along with them. There are rewards beyond the reach of the timid.

I did as a kid, but now I tend to be nervous on them, I have been feeling that way since I was 12.

Oh my god I could never. My mom is a huge roller coaster lover and she stuck me and my brothers on a wooden one for our first time. It was terrible! My brothers swore off roller coasters for the rest of their life. I was too much of a daredevil not to try again but Ive never been on a wooden one since.

I like the ones at Disney parks, since they're not as extreme as the ones at places like Six Flags, plus somehow the theming on Disney rides makes it a little less intimidating. I definitely won't ride anything too extreme though. I'm afraid of heights and I don't find it fun to feel like I'm falling to my death. Those insane coasters they have at Cedar Point...noooo way, I just don't see how people find it fun to fall 300+ feet! (Yes, there is a ride there with a drop that's over 300 feet. Yikes).

You just named my two favorite places!! I love Disney because I mean DUH its DISNEY. Cedar Point was actually the first amusement park I went to. My mom used to spend her summers there as a teen. I love it actually lol. But Im a bit of an adrenaline junkie.

I have an actual phobia when it comes to getting on a roller coaster. However if I take some xanax, then I can't get enough of them. The more extreme the better.

I absolutely loved rollercoasters when I was younger.

I haven't been on one since I was 13-14 years old though. The closest thing I've done since then is try the simulator at Intrepid museum in NYC once, and that was more than a decade ago.
