Wait, how would anyone know about these people and their diagnosis that long ago?

Mmmm...a skeptic, I mean Tom Hanks? :?

Yeah, it just amounts to wishful categorization.

I dispute a lot of these. A lot of them were just weird, that doesn't mean aspie. And a lot of them were also pretty social. It is kind of nice to think though that for a good portion of our history a lot of the traits associated with great leadership were aspie traits.

Almost all of these aren't true.. Though I do firmly believe Bill Gates probably has AS based on his general behavior.

Distinguishing between aspies and socially ankward NTs can be very hard, even if you know the person well.

It's possible that Robin Williams has it. And Bill Gates does have a diagnosis of AS, they failed to mention Stephen Spielberg as he has it too.

Tom hanks??? heck no. people should stop speculating until they come up with concrete proof other than "oh, so and so is shy so he has AS"

I think some people look at AS like it's a gift not that I'm saying people with AS aren't gifted. It's just that I think with anyone feeling "different" or left out, have this need to see as speacial sort of like that movie A Beautiful Mind.

I'm not disputing that all of them don't have a diagnosis of AS but it's strange how people reflect whatever they have onto someone who's been in the public eye.

Not sure if I'm wording this right...

I am always skeptical when people say so & so is an aspie, the was another thread topic on
Albert Einstein being an aspie, how can people prove that when there is no actual proof.
I think some aspies like project their condition on to people they admire

Now I am sure there are some famous aspies, but unless they come out and say they have
AS, we shouldn't speculate or assume on something which is none of our business.

Albert Einstein had a severly delayed speech, echolalia, dyscalculia and frequent meltdowns. Allthough I'm sceptical toward claims about Hollywood aspies, Einstein was obviously a higher-functioning individual with Kanner's.

You have a point there.. I made a comment a while back about
an actor i thought might have aspergers syndrome because of
many little things i noticed over time. But i regreted making the
post shortly after, it feels a little iffy to be talking about and
discussing other peoples "conditions", its really non of my buisness
either way.. Guess the reason i made the comment was because of
all the positive and big things he had achieved in his life despite of
being what others call " mighty odd", guess thats what many do,
someone that sticks out and dont fit and still rises to the top by
working hard gives some hope or something. But personally i dont
think i will be making more comments like that, it just feels wrong.

I find it hard to believe than a person with AS could be a succesfull actor... I'm very theatrical myself and my expressions are much exagerrated when I speak but still I don't believe I could act 100% NT. I could act pretty mad tho ;p
