Caution. Don't watch this video if you are faint of heart!
The following is a video of controversial baby dynamics yoga. It is an interesting subject. If you think that humans derived from apes then this is a very natural approach. But it scares me just to watch it. I would probably file it in a drawer marked "strange therapy to integrate sense of proprioception and vestibular in young human children".
Lena Fokina said, "From the moment of its birth a child can grasp, step, support itself and swim."
According to Lena, baby yoga was first practiced by ancient African tribes – but the modern incarnation was developed by fellow Russian Dr Igor Charkovsky.
She said years later when the infants grow up, "And the children often turn out to be early readers, singers, talkers, swimmers. It also makes their hands stronger"
She went on to say, "'All my children have grown up according to the Charkovsky method and they have all gone on to achieve outstanding results in life - they are Russian champions in parachuting, freediving and horse riding.
'Now my children are practicing those same methods on their own children. It’s the best proof.'

A very unique plan. As Dr. Paul Thompson wrote, "This is the very best paper on the virus I have ever seen."
Eeek! Well, it certainly made me feel rather uneasy (though I might be projecting my own clumsiness a little there!) And it seems to have rather a lot of potential to become a faddish thing, and even if beneficial, to be imitated by the over-confident.
But when you mention proprioception/vestibular senses, I can't help but think of my own difficulties in those areas, and reports of having been a very immobile infant and toddler (my parents never had to worry that I'd crawl off when their backs were turned, as I never figured out how to, nor desired to, it seems.) So, like yourself, I'd file it under; let's see some controlled research in this area - but I'm definitely not going to recommend it to anyone just yet!
