Like I skip a day. Is that wierd? If I got a boyfriend I would probably go back to brushing every day. Untill we got comfortable with each other that is.

You don't want to have to get root canals and tooth extractions. And experience toothache pain (I experienced all those things because I didn't brush enough).

Please brush every day--preferably more than once a day.

I'm in my 30s, and thus far I've had to have 4 cavities filled (and probably in need of one or two more, with at least 6 cavities total detected) all due to only brushing once a day. Don't take your teeth for granted. Even if it's just a quick brush, it's better than nothing.

I brushed 1ce a day most of my life but I very seldom skip days. I only had one cavity & the only time a dentist complained about me not brushing enough was while I had braces. Last time I went to the dentist they decided to quit doing ex-rays every year & only do em every two years now cuz of how good a shape my teeth are in. They are surprised at how good a shape my teeth are in because I have acid reflux & am on meds that cause dry mouth. I do see the dentist 2wice a year thou & I brush with an electric toothbrush & I'm very thorough.

The conventional wisdom is... you only have to brush the teeth you want to keep.

I brush twice a day plus flossing, poking and stuff... otherwise it feels like there's a badger living in there.

In my late teens I still had all my teeth, but by the time I touched my early 20's I had quite a few fillings in my upper back teeth. My dentist was asking me questions about what I ate and drank. Ok, I wasn't a person who brushed my teeth more then once or twice a day, and he could see that, but he said he thought I had issues with stomache acid corroding my teeth and sent me to see my doctor. I did but the doctor wasn't interested and that was that!
Now in the last few years I started having throat issues which partly were caused by stomache acid. Throat closing up etc. Artificial sweetners in foods, and fruit also closed my throat off so I am careful.
The last few weeks I have seen links with the possibility that I may be mildly on the autism spectrum but I don't know. It could be my imagination! Anyway. Something quite recently I have discovered was what stress feels like. I have had it for years but didn't know until recently that it is called stress. I could not believe it! How could I have a feeling for so many years and not know it was called stress? I am above average intelligence. How is it possible?
Then yesterday with a suggestion from DanielW I have just discovered that I know what anxiety is. Yes, that too I have had on quite a few occasions and I tend to get it building up where I feel a type of clostrophobic feeling where my head feels like it will explode with pressure and I have to watch I don't make silly decisions, and then I eventually get a release after the pressure has built up. I think I get this about every two or three years. Is also a type of homesick feeling mixed in.. Is like a build up of a few emotions at the same time making my head feel pressurized... Fortunately it doesn't happen that often and for some reason usually in the evening so when I get the release from the pressure I really sleep well, but before that time I am in no mood to sleep!

I used to be very poor at looking after my teeth. In my forties I ended up paying for it in both pain and money. I'm a lot better at looking after them nowadays.

I brush and floss twice a day, but still am prone to developing plaque. Otherwise, my teeth are in good shape for someone in her 50s.

I skipped brushing teeth for several days sometimes and... I've had two cavities in my whole life, in primary school. And yes, I skipped brushing teeth later. Nothing happened.
Probably genes. And my dislike for sweets. I prefer quite a carnivorous diet.

I brush my teeth to keep my breath fresh, the teeth seem just not to care.

It isn’t weird, but you’ll feel much better if you brush them every day, especially twice a day. It’s the first thing I do when I wake up because I don’t like having teeth that aren’t clean.

If you search for “plaque removal” or “tartar removal” on YouTube, the videos you’ll see will help you want to brush your teeth more often. :)

It's not weird, it's unhealthy. And I'm saying this as someone who is a firm believer in equal beauty standards/freedom of choice, not someone who believes all women should wear makeup and nail varnish etc.

If you don't brush your teeth, they will ache and eventually fall out.

If you're like me and the problem is that mint toothpaste tastes disgusting, there are other options out there including for adults. I'm using a liquorice one at the moment. It tastes nicer so I'm more inclined to brush my teeth than having yucky mint flavour in my mouth.

If it's a routine thing, try to build it into your routine somehow.

If you really can't do it then look into a sugar free diet but that's basically impossible nowadays so it would be far easier for you to just go onto brushing twice a day or at least once a day.

End of the day though, it's your own choice. Just be aware it's about health/avoidance of pain rather than simply beauty.
