Those who like trains and model railways, and those who don't. I can't fathom out the second group yet, but I'm working on it... No idea how they think... Is that empathy? Ummm.

I had a couple train sets when I was a kid. One I think my parents got for me when I was little & the other belonged to my dad when he was a kid or someone on his side of the family. Both engines ran on different power currents/frequencies so they could never run on the same track at the same time & you had to make sure the power hookup for the track matched the train but the tracks & cars were interchangeable & could be mixed. I never played with em much thou cuz it took up a lot of space & I wasn't majorly into it. I'm surprised liking trains is a stereotyped Aspie interest considering how lots of us on the spectrum have sound sensitivities & how loud trains get. I would expect Aspies to be afraid of trains or for them to get meltdowns cuz of em.

I loved the sounds as they were predictable sounds and they are not too loud. The sound I didn't like was the sudden noise and the light from the old Hornby Dublo controllers when a train came off the track. It made me jump! It was my dads trainset and I actually still have it.

Loud noises I hate and used to jump... A hammer when I didn't expect it... The older type of jack hammers... Todays are quieter.
Also bangs... Bangs are scary. When working with bicycles, I HATE it when a tyre bursts. The jump I get and I am in shock for a long time afterwards. Every time I pump a tyre up I am very, very careful to check right round the rims on both sides and I am very careful with older tyres... It doesn't happen that often but when it does I am in shock! It makes me really be extra careful with tyre pressures and the aay the tyres sit on the rims, which is not always easy with cheaply made bicycles whose tollerences are not that good.

I like electric trains that have tunnels added to them. I like to see the trains go through the tunnels.

Not a train enthusiast, but I always like hearing from people who are passionate about something.

For me, there are two types of people: cat lovers and those who have never been fortunate enough to be owned by a cat and experience the joy of being wrapped around their little paws! Cats (and dogs, too) leave pawprints on your heart.

"Cis" is the opposite of "trans"...as in "transgender".

I guess that it means "within" rather than "across".

I didn't know the term 'cis' either until I started spending time on the Net at places like Wrongplanet. that have a sizable trans population.

If you're a regular bloke who is....just a bloke then you're a "cisgender male" (as opposed to a transgender person).

Trains are cool. I have cycled through phases of being a train enthusiast, an airplane enthusiast, a zeppelin/dirigible enthusiast, and a ship enthusiast. Am mostly into ships though. But LOVE steam locomotives.
