Anyone here obsessed by reruns of "Hazel" (the early Sixties TV sitcom)?

Hazel was a smart alecky maid in a TV program which bore her name. It ran from about 1961 to 1966.

The message was, basically, that the maid had common sense, and that her boss didn't.

The star was Shirley Booth.

I knew about it, but didn't watch it much when I was a kid.

The basic premise of comedies written by Plautus in ancient Rome. Clever slave, stupid master.

The Hazel in the OP was a private eye in a UK series. It may have been the 70s... I don't remember.

... I still prefer Shoestring...

I just Googled it.

It's "Hazell"----and it ran from 1978-1979.

"All in the Family," the iconic US series, came from a British comedy named "Till Death Do Us Part." And "Sanford and Son" came from the British comedy "Steptoe and Son."

Occasionally I've had people mistakenly think I do. My eyes are actually a light brown colour. They always appear as brown, just different shades depending on the lighting (appearing darker in dark spaces, and a lighter brown in brighter areas etc). However, unlike hazel eyes, they never look green. I've had a few arguments where I've explained this to people a few times. Generally though, it doesn't happen very often. The majority of people will never question the fact that my eyes are brown, but occasionally a few do.

I am unfamiliar with the TV show. Admittedly, when I clicked on this thread I thought perhaps it was going to be a discussion on hazelnuts and that the OP had simply missed a word, such as love, like, dislike or hate in the title.

Yeah. It ran when I was a kid. But we didn't watch it regularly.
