A man starts a running race. There are 45 runners taking part.
He has a quick start and straight away he finds himself in 23rd place. He keeps on running though his left leg starts to play up a bit... But he keeps going and going. He realizes a few other runners have made a mistake and run the wrong way... he overtakes the second place runner and he keeps going and then comes across the finish line. All things considered, what posistion does he really finish in?

A) you don't have to "explain" it because it would be anonymous.
