Who else dreads having people pop up in FB chat but doesn't have the heart to filter them out? I find myself going on and off FB for about 30 seconds at a time. It's kinda like an adrenaline kick where i get to sneak on and off unscathed. Ironically it's my closest friends IRL that are on my "dangerlist", never online friends - and I would be well happy to receive a "hi" from the WP people i have on there. Anyone else have this problem or should i be a man up and filter out my list of "main offenders"?

i used to have that problem as people used to want to chat with me. but lately i don't have that issue as much. i guess it helps that i sorted them into groups (with no guilt - you are kinder than me), and switched the chat "off" for some groups.

I feel the same type of dread when I go on Facebook for that same reason.

I've just set my chat bar to 'offline' so even if I am on FB for two hours no one will know! I hate getting into random one word conversations with people I haven't seen for years!

I'm very much like this.
It's strange though. I really like some of the people who are on my "Offline list" and I don't mind e-mailing with them but somehow chatting really frustrates me. Actually there's only a few people that I don't mind instant messaging with.

dont have that problem. might be the lack of friends wanting to talk besides one or two from here.

I'm lucky in that usually no one wants to talk to me :D

I just start banging on about my special interest is probably why.

I've never been on Facebook. I think it's scary. Sylkat 8O

I hate pop up chat, anybody can inbox me but the pressure of pop up chat is too much.

I don't know about "dangerlists" per se, but I usually only talk to specific people on FB chat.
