It's getting cold out around here and so I'm trying to stay indoors tonight other than a possible quick trip to the grocery store.

Maybe I'll just turn the tv on tonight and watch something. And maybe a baked potato and chicken soup for supper. I already set the butter out to let it get soft to put on the baked potato.

So how's your day going? Good? Bad? The usual? Anything exciting?

I'm designing my own wallpaper murals and some coordinating bed linens. I can get pretty fixated on small details, so I have to take a break and divert my attention to something else. The balance of the day was OK. I'm excited that it's mid October and my favourite time of year with the darker days.

Thanks for asking!

Who's next?

That sounds really cool. What kind of wallpaper murals do you do?

I've seen a number of different murals that I would really like to have on my wall. My favorites are generally either of mountains, horses, or fishing streams, either drawn or photographed.

I think that what would really get me would be a mural of a doorway leading to something fascinating that would make me wish I could walk through that door. With something like that, I would just need to make my walls match up with whatever the doorway was going through for it to be perfect.

In general, I like wallpaper better than painted walls in a more homey, old-timey style of house. Even better would be a nice wood wainscotting up to about three or four feet and then a wallpaper above that.

Alas, I'm not enough of an artist to make my own murals.

My day is good because it feels like autumn. We had over 60 days in the 90sF.

You know me (sort of). I'm making a stormy, dark Wuthering Heights mural and another ghostly apparition mural which does involve a doorway! The idea is that it will look like an extension of my room, the way I place the doorway.

They're from photos but I've played with the colour effects and the cropping etc., to get the sizes and resolution I would want. I'm still debating between a few companies which print the image onto the wallpaper mural paper, either traditional style or the removable type. I greatly prefer traditional.

I lovvveee wallpaper too, but it has to be really old style vintage, or murals which span a full wall.

PS: I used to have a beta fish named Kokopelli!

The only thing better than a door in a mural that looks real would be a hidden door that doesn't look like a door at all.

My grandparent's house had lots of wallpaper throughout. It always looked really great. After they passed away and one of my brothers moved in, he took all the wallpaper out.

Friday was pretty miserable. After Thursday's cold front, my head was all swollen up. My ears were stuffed up and for a while I could barely stand without getting somewhat dizzy.

I went to a customer's house about 4:30 pm to fix a minor problem and was back by 5 pm. I sat down on a sofa in the office and quickly fell asleep before I could even take my coat off. So auntblabby gets up at 5 pm and I fall back asleep at 5 pm and woke back up about 10 pm with my coat still on.

Today was busy with lots of house cleaning. I got my dog's lab results and had to go to the vet to pick up antibiotics because he has a bladder infection. :( Poor baby. The vet also discovered a mass on his skin which could be the dreaded C word ... so I have to get a second opinion for surgery or else keep an eye on it for a month, and see if it grows or changes. I'm so upset about that potential issue that I'm feeling numb. Everything else has just been a blur.

Thus, not a great day.

I watched a football game in the afternoon and then made tacos for supper. That is pretty much the highlights of my day.

If we should ever meet and I should make ham and eggs for you, make sure you ask about the sell by date before you eat them.

This morning's ham had a sell by date of September 2. About 15 minutes after I ate, I was really feeling miserable with stomach cramps and a lot of belching. After an hour and a half to two hours, it started to let up a bit.

So not a good start on the day.

I hope everyone else's day is going better.

glad to hear it seems to be abating, but are you sure it wasn't the eggs?

Thanks.

The eggs are fairly fresh, but it is possible.

To give an idea about how little attention that I pay to dates, about five years ago, I ate some eggs that had been in the refrigerator for about eight months. I boiled them (like I did the eggs this morning) and they had an enormous air bubble on each end. Being that the nearest store to buy eggs was a 70 mile round trip, I went ahead and ate them and had no side affects. They did taste a bit different, though.

Anyway, I'm doing something I hadn't done in a long time. I'm spending my Sunday morning stretched out on a sofa watching tv and spending a little time on the laptop.

I had a very strange Thanksgiving Sunday. My mum's been in and out of the hospital and she wants to have the family over for turkey once all her tests are done. She's currently preparing for a colonoscopy. I ate 2 pork chops and a baked potato for supper and watched The Monkees. It doesn't help that my older friend (in age) didn't seem to be too thankful for my company today because her queen bee friend at the church told me not to hang out with Dean and I.

Is this the Monkees tv show from the 1960s? Or has the UK done their own version of the Monkees?

Speaking of British tv, I tried watching Wizards vs Aliens but just couldn't catch on. It just didn't make any sense to me. Did it make more sense in the UK?

I realize that some shows in the UK make references to things over there that go completely over our heads in the US. For example, I was at a certain very well known musician's house (several years before he became very well known) one afternoon and there was someone from the UK visiting. They were talking about Monty Python's Flying Circus and the British guy was explaining that often in the shows, they were making references to certain groups of people in the UK. One example was of "Hell's Grannies":

I just thought it was a funny thing about old women acting like juvenile delinquents, but it apparently went much deeper than that.

If I remember correctly, another part was referring to people on the beach (possibly in Brighton, I think).
