As I thought we were supposed to be social distancing? They were mentioning on out TV that there maybe restrictions for internet use due to the virus.
How do we know if we are not supposed to use the internet?

Yes, but keep six feet away from your screen at all times.

You can use the internet, but you can only post cat pictures.

Don't talk on the phone either - you might pass on germs down the phone.

I wouldn't be surprised if after this is over, someone comes up with a game where you have to run from viruses while zapping them with your mouse. Round green things with little tentacles, like peas gone off. They would make a fortune.

Given that it is well known that a virus can be sent as an attachment on a post or an email WE'RE DOOMED!! !

I think what they are concerned about are the internet meet up sites set up to invite one or more stragers into your home for a sexual adventure.

Joking aside:The original poster could mean one of two very different things. Its not clear which thing he means.

A)That he thinks that the powers that be might need to reserve internet capacity for their own official corvid 19 related business, so we all MIGHT hafta layoff the chit chat and cat pics at some point so they can get stuff done.

or

B) That he thinks that the powers at be think that humans can catch the virus BY WAY OF the Internet.


If he means (A) then....I dunno...that could well be. Might happen at some future point I suppose. The internet is finite, like everything else.

but if he means (B) then....DUDE...I hope that you are aware that the expression "going viral" is just a figure of speech!

The Net can cause you to start dancing Gangum Style, but you cant catch actual disease causing viruses through the Net.

As I understood it: it's not that you're not supposed to use the internet, it's that things like Youtube and Netflix will be limiting their quality and bandwidth in order to cope with the spike in activity due to the quarantine.
