Me and my uncle don’t really get along so don’t feel comfortable asking him about this.......

Apparently my uncle said to someone behind my back in regards to me “you have got to be careful how you approach James”

What do you think that says about how I might come across to others?

I think we as members need more detail in order to respond helpfully. How do you feel that you come across? Do you get upset or angry very easily? Many of us tend to show our various emotions very strongly.

Does he live under the same roof?

I'm so sorry about that James, sending you virtual hugs from across the world. It's tough when that happens and I hope you will be able to enjoy precious times with him while he's still around.

I wouldn't worry too much about what he said - I think he cares about you more than you may think and doesn't want to say things that may make you upset.

NT’s often should be careful when speaking to autistics as we have to be when we speak with them.

Unlike us who as a minority had to learn this the hard way they as the overwhelming majority often do not realize this as your uncle does so he is advising them.

Since your uncle has terminal cancer I would ignore the negative things that happen and appreciate whatever positive things do happen.
