I dedicate the following two songs to RainSong:

“When It’s Raining” and “Streets In The Rain” by The Samples

“When It’s Raining” by The Samples

When years pass between us
And the light shines on the water
I ask please for one thing
Leave shelter when it's raining

Decisions in blueprint
So nervous and deceiving
In concrete these structures
That our small hands
Just keep building

Through towers and phone lines
Connections to each other
I wonder who's watching
As light shines on the water

When the stars fall beyond us
And our small eyes
Just keep watching
I ask please for one thing
Leave shelter when it's raining

“Streets In The Rain” by The Samples

I'm looking for people
That I used to know
And I'm looking for places
We used to go

I promise the changes
Will never change me
No matter how distant
We seemed to be
We used to be children
And I'd never forget
When we played in our circles
But that game's not over yet

The neons too bright
The world's too fast
The cities at night
And the stores behind glass
The streets in the rain
And the field back home
They're never the same
So now I'm alone

I'm looking for people
That I used to know
And I'm looking for places
We used to go
We used to go
We used to go
We used to go
So long ago
So long ago

I dedicate this song to any adventure-loving Aspie!

Africa
(ToTo)

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(Ah, gonna take the time)
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

I dedicate this song to Anna and Heather!

Another Day In Paradise
{Phil Collins}

She calls out to the man on the street
'Sir, can you help me ?'
'it's cold, and I've nowhere to sleep.
is there somewhere you can tell me ?'

He walks on, doesn't look back,
he pretends he can't hear her
starts to whistle as he crosses the street
seems embarrased to be there.

Oh think twice, it's another day for
you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it's just another day for you,
you and me in paradise

She calls out to the man on the street
he can see she's been crying
she's got blisters on the soles of her feet
she can't walk, but she's trying

Oh think twice .....

Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do
Oh Lord, there must be something you can say

You can tell from the lines on her face
you can see that she's been there
probably been moved on from every place
'cos she didn't fit in there

Oh think twice .....

I dedicate this song to Kilroy!
Mr Roboto
{Styx}
Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto
Mata ah-oo Hima de
Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto
Himitsu wo Shiri Tai

You're wondering who I am - Machine or mannequin
With parts made in Japan, I am the modren man.

I've got a secret, I've been hiding
Under my skin.
My heart is humn, my blood is boiling
My brain IBM.
So if you see me, acting strangely
Don't be surprised.
I'm just a man who, needed someone
And somewhere to hide
To keep me alive - Just keep me alive.
Somewhere to hide to keep me alive.

I'm not a robot, without emotion
I'm not what you see.
I've come to help you, with your problems
So we can be free.
I'm not a hero, I'm not a saviour
Forget what you know.
I'm just a man whose, circustances
Went beyond his control - beyond my control.
Beyond my control, we all need control.

I am the modren man, who hides behind a mask
So no one else can see, my true identity

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto, Domo (Domo), Domo (Domo)
Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto, Domo (Domo), Domo (Domo)

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto [Repeat several X's]

Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto for doing the jobs that nobody wants to
And thank you very much, Mr. Roboto for helping me escape just when I needed
to
Thank you - Thank you. Thank you.
I want to thank you, please thank you.

Oh! Oh-ah-oh!

The problem's plain to see
To much technology
Machine's to save our lives
Machines dehumanize

The time has come at last.
To throw away this mask.
Now everyone can see.
My true identity.

I'm Kilroy!
Kilroy!
Kilroy!
Kilroy.

Ah, thanks. :) (Now I'm flipping through my iPod trying to find songs that fit people; I'm failing miserably.)

To Trigger11 (I couldn't find anything that I thought fit you; I thought this might make you laugh.)

"Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday (Featuring The Kung Pao Buckaroos)" by Brad Paisley

And now the grand old opera theater proudly presents a special holiday edition of the Adventures of the Kung Pao Buckaroos

Well, it’s a Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday
Whatever you do watch what you say
If you’re easily offended well that’s okay
It’s a completely non-offensive and politically correct holiday

We catch up with our three cowboys one cold December night huddled around a camp fire.

How ‘bout we sing some holiday songs?
Yeah, hey George, you wanna lead us off?
Yeah, I got one.

Oh Chri-biip-mas tree oh Chri-biip-mas tree how lovely are thy branches...

Why am I getting bleeped again?
Haven’t you heard guys? You can’t say Chri-biip-mas you gotta say Holiday
I can’t say Chri-biip-mas?
No, you might offend somebody.
Who is offended by Chri-biip-mas?
You know you might offend the biiiips and the biiiips and the atheists.
What?
Time to politically correct.

I’ll lead this off.

On the first day of Chri-biip-mas my true love said to me…

Jimmy, are you listening?
What?
You can’t say Chri-biip-mas.
Why not?
If you can say he-biiiip on the last record,
Why can’t I say Chri-biip-mas?
I didn’t make the rules.
Hey listen guys, it’s not that difficult, all you gotta do is change Chri-biip-mas to Holiday.
You know, instead of saying white Chri-biip-mas, you say I’m dreaming of a whi-biiip Holiday.
Why did I get bleeped?
You’ve got to say Caucasian.
So I have to sing, I’m dreaming of a Caucasian holiday?
Sure, that won’t offend anyone.

Well, it’s a Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday,
Whatever you do watch what you say
If you’re easily offended well that’s okay

Why do these people have to feel that way? How come they get offended so easily?

It’s a completely non-offensive and politically correct holiday

I’m just trying to come up with a song here.
Let’s sing one together, everybody ready? George?
Ready.
Bill you ready?
I’m ready.
Jimmy? Jimmy? Jimmy?
Okay!

We three kings of or-biiiiiiiiip are bearing gifts we’ve traveled real far….

Sorry boys, you have to say Asia now.
What?
Oh, come on just try.
I've got to get hyped up for this.

We three kings of Asia are….

That sounds like horse cr-biiiip
Oh lord, okay. How ‘bout Little Drummer boy?
Nope, that offends short people.
And you can’t say drummer ‘cause that'll offend real musicians.

How ‘bout little –hahaha- town of Bethlehem.
What’s with all the short jokes?

Hey how ‘bout we do Silent Night?
No, it offends people hard of hearin' and afraid of the dark.
What did he say about a shark?
SHARK?

This happens every year.

Well, it’s a Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday,
Whatever you do watch what you say,
If you’re easily offended well that’s okay,
It’s a completely non-offensive and politically correct holiday.

Ho! ho! ho!
No.
I can’t say ho?
No, you might offend some... women.
So basically, we can’t sing anything?

I think thats a bunch of bull biiiip.
Softer, George, it’s more effective.
I think thats a bunch of bull biiiip.
Wait just a dar-biip minute...
No, no, no..
You now what? I don’t care who we offend, I’m gonna sing Chri-biip-mas carols if I wanna sing Chri-biip-mas carols.
Louder, Bill, it’s more effective.
I don’t care who we offend, I’m gonna sing Chri-biip-mas carols if I wanna sing Chri-biip-mas carols.
Me too.

We wish you a merry Chri-biip-mas, we wish you a merry Chri-biip-mas, we wish you a merry Chri-biip-mas, and a happy ne-biip year.

We can’t say new; it’ll offend the old folks.
And you better not offend them.

Us…

To someone. (I don't need to say.)

"Your Guardian Angel" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

When I see your smile
Tears run down my face I can't replace
And now that I'm stronger I've figured out
How this world turns cold and breaks through my soul
And I know I'll find deep inside me I can be the one

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

It's ok. It's ok. It's ok.
Seasons are changing
And waves are crashing
And stars are falling all for us
Days grow longer and nights grow shorter
I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Cuz you're my, you're my, my true love, my whole heart
Please don't throw that away
Cuz I'm here for you
Please don't walk away,
Please tell me you'll stay, stay

Use me as you will
Pull my strings just for a thrill
And I know I'll be ok
Though my skies are turning gray

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Aha! I found one. That whole laundry thing...

Trigger11:

"Hang Me Up To Dry" by Cold War Kids

Careless in our summer clothes splashing around
in the muck and the mire
Careless in our summer clothes splashing around
in the muck and the mire

fell asleep with stains
cake deep in the knees
what a pain

now hang me up to dry
you wrung me out
too too too many times
now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the whites
the whites of your eyes

all mixed up in the wash
hot water bleeding our colors
all mixed up in the wash
hot water bleeinding our colors

now hang me up to dry
you wrung me out
too too too many times
now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the white
the whites of your eyes

now hang me up to dry
you wrung me out
too too too many times
now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the white
the whites of your eyes

now hang me up to dry
you wrung me out
too too too many times
now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the white
the whites of your eyes

Right back at you!

"Rainy Day" by Guster

I will dig a hole
Save my pennies for a rainy day
I will dig a hole
Savin' pennies for a rainy day
I'm not scared
I will build a wall
Sensing trouble from a mile away
I will build a wall
Saw it comin' from a mile away
I'm not scared
I'm not scared
Try wearin' your insides out
I don't even try, I know I have seen the best I'll have
I don't even try
I will just play dumb
I won't hear a single word that's said
I will bite my tongue
Never sing another song again
I'm not scared
I'm not scared
Try wearing my insides out
I don't even try, I know I have seen the best I'll have
I don't even try
Now they want to take my chances
I don't even try
Clouds are comin'
Air gets heavy
Looks like trouble on a rainy day
Sun starts sinking
Can't see my shadow
Looks like trouble on a rainy day
Holes uncovered
Walls will crumble
All spells trouble on a rainy day

"A Rainy Night In Soho" by The Pogues

I've been loving you a long time
Down all the years, down all the days
And I've cried for all your troubles
Smiled at your funny little ways
We watched our friends grow up together
And we saw them as they fell
Some of them fell into Heaven
Some of them fell into Hell

I took shelter from a shower
And I stepped into your arms
On a rainy night in Soho
The wind was whistling all its charms
I sang you all my sorrows
You told me all your joys
Whatever happened to that old song
To all those little girls and boys

Now the song is nearly over
We may never find out what it means
But there's a light I hold before me
And you're the measure of my dreams
The measure of my dreams

Sometimes I wake up in the morning
The gingerlady by my bed
Covered in a cloak of silence
I hear you talking in my head
I'm not singing for the future
I'm not dreaming of the past
I'm not talking of the fist time
I never think about the last

Now the song is nearly over
We may never find out what it means
Still there's a light I hold before me
You're the measure of my dreams
The measure of my dreams

"Rain" by Shel Silverstein

I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

To rosered:

"London You're A Lady" by The Pogues

Ah London you're a lady
Laid out before my eyes
Your heart of gold it pulses
Between your scarred up thighs
Your eyes are full of sadness
Red busses skirt your hem
Your head-dress is a ring of lights
But I would not follow them
Your architects were madmen
Your builders sane but drunk
Among your faded jewels
Shine acid house and punk

You are a scarlet lady
Your streets run red with blood
Oh my darling they have used you
And covered you with mud
It was deep down in your womb my love
I drank my quart of sin
While chinamen played cards and draughts
And knocked back mickey finns

Your piss is like a river
Its scent is beer and gin
Your hell is in the summer
And you blossom in the spring
September is your purgatory
Christmas is your heaven
And when the stinking streets of summer
Are washed away by rain
At the dark end of a lonely street
That's where you
'Tis then your eyes light up my love
And sparkle once again

To Raph522:

"The White Stuff" by Weird Al Yankovic

The white stuff, the white stuff

The first one was a sweet one
Second one was a blast
Soon I finished off the bag, ate em up real fast
You can see em in my teeth
Tell it when I talk
Had so many my pancreas just went into shock

I love the white stuff, baby
In the middle of an oreo
I love the white stuff, baby
Its the most delicious thing I know

Ive had a zillion or two
In my life, theyre so right
My teeth are all rotted clear through
But who cares? what else am I supposed to do?

Oh oh oh-oh-oh, oh oreo
Oh oh oh-oh-oh, the white stuff
Oh oh oh-oh-oh, oh oreo
Whats in the middle? the white stuff

The first time that I tried it
Got a big sugar buzz
Nothing gets me high as that sandwhich cookie does
But I love the filling most
I rub it on my roast
Mix it in with my coffee and spread it on my toast

I love the white stuff, baby
In the middle of an oreo
I love the white stuff, baby
Take some with me everywhere I go

Might get a pimple or two
Well, so what? its all right
Now twinkies and ding dongs wont do
All I need... you know what it is

Oh oh oh-oh-oh, oh oreo
Oh oh oh-oh-oh, the white stuff
Oh oh oh-oh-oh, oh oreo
Oh oh oh-oh-oh, the white stuff
Oh oh oh-oh-oh, oh oreo
Whats in the middle? the white stuff

To her:

No title is sufficient by anonymous

I told her I should write a love song for her selflessly given sustaining rain that's alleviated much of my pain
na, this is going to be the only love song sung by me but it ain't going to be predictable 'cause that's an obvious cliche I've just slain

"'I give myself to you; I need you; I cannot stop thinking of you; I give my life to you; I scream, cry, lie and die for you; I appreciate and understand you; I accept you; I love every part of you; I kill and live for you.'"

That's just selfish pain from my brain that's purveying what I've gained by stepping over that double lane and saying 'Please don't leave me, I cannot handle the pain and insufferable strain, for I'll drain my vein in love's vain!'

f**k that (for this is just as much for a demon as it's for the angel and her clipped flock)

you see people
there was once a lady covered in red
that fine cloak of red was her blood that she bled for all of you without it even being said
you may not know it, you may not hear it, you may not see it, you may not feel it
but as she keeps her internal pain to herself; for she cares for those more than herself
she sheds tears of blood from the knife's edge to keep the pain that isn't from her mouth's edge away from yourself
in fact, you'll never know she does such a thing for you've been accustomed to her complete selflessness; the pain came from your mouth
and that people
is the ironic thing as that lady in her cloak of red is protecting you from yourself
she'll listen to your pain without visible strain [and offer her sustaining rain without need for any gain]
she'll refrain from sharing her pain less it adds environment induced perceived selfish insanity to your "sane" mind and its measurable ball and chain
for she feels that "insanity" resides within her; you've created the doubt of sanity within her by not listening, but using her as a cane
that's sad people
for everyone has soaked up her healing rain without knowing the cost of her internal pain
