People are expected to be quarantined for about 14 days, since the Virus takes from 3 to 14 days to incubate.

But if you're in Italy, Poland or Spain you can't go out and about at all, whether you have symptoms or not it seems. It's indefinitely. I'm willing to be corrected.

I'm coughing, but I think I just have a cold, but that's me stuck at home for 2 weeks now, though no one is enforcing it. I'm just being a good neighbor.

While quarantine is only 14 days, country wide lockdowns and mandatory social distancing could be a lot longer. The goal is to slow the spread of the virus and spread out the number of people who contract it over a longer period of time(longer is better) so that the healthcare systems do not exceed capacity.

Quarantine is 14 days, but self isolation could last for months.

In Poland - not unless you are confirmed or strongly suspected to have it.
While physical gatherings over 50 persons became illegal, schools work remotely and events got cancelled, individuals are not forced into isolation.
People normally take walks and do outdoors activities, they are just politely asked by officials to keep distance to each other, not crowd, keep increased hygiene standards and stay at home whenever they can.

Are you quarantined personally or is your state in epidemological emergency?
The former - 2 weeks; the latter - indefititely, depending on how events proceed.

it is going to be with us forever. any hope of exterminating it was quashed long ago - now we need to consider how we will live with it.

we live with the common flu strains, get a vaccine yearly, go through "flu season" and think nothing of it.
