Sorry, just a little Ghostbusters reference. I just want to say that I've adopted a new kitten named Penny and she and my dog Missy are the best of friends. They are napping together in the same chair as I type this.

Very nice. How old is your dog?

I don't really know. I think she is a few years old. She was a rescue dog from a shelter in Texas that had a high rate of euthanasia.

If cats and dogs can peacefully co-exist even though they so different, why can't the humans?

I think a better expression these days would be "Republicans & Democrats working together - MASS HYSTERIA!!".

Getting back to the original topic, it's great when different pets can get along well. Our cat & chinchilla get along fairly well. We let the chin out of his cage for about an hour each day & him & our cat have a lot of fun chasing each other. Sometimes he'll get spooked by our cat being too focused on him & then he'll hide & bark some till we make her move. I would NEVER suggest letting a new cat & new rodent play together unsupervised but they can learn to get along mostly if they see each other a lot.

My cat and dog tolerate each other, but each of them wishes the other knew how to play properly.

I think she meant she wanted to see a picture of the dog and cat etc.
