Why does "My Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music get played in stores at Christmastime? Is it really a Christmas song? I don't see why it is.

Fusion devices
And flashburns that sting
These are a few of my
Favorite things!

Nope ... I do not understand it, either ...

I think it's a fine Christmas song. Another one that I like is 'We Need a Little Christmas' by Percy Faith.

It has a lot of winter imagery. Snowflakes that fall on my nose and eyelashes...winters that slowly melt away into spring....

Also mentions something about "packages".

So it does kinda go with the winter holiday season.

And 2020 sucked as a year for most folks. So it doesnt hurt to ...suggest thinking of your favorite things...when things bite. Lol!
