Me too. Too much sensory stuff there and yet I have to try and focus on finding items from my location list. If I go alone I'll often leave in defeat, not completing my list.

In a small shop if I feel a partial shutdown coming I usually have enough time to either make my way out and find somewhere to recover or if I have a full shutdown I can find somewhere out the way so I can be on the floor or lying on a bench like seat so no one will notice.
But in a large store I not only have a lot further to go if I have to deal with a shutdown event but I have shop security that pick up on my odd behaviour ad follow me through the store, which gives me major anxiety and I have to drop everything (Or not buy anything) and quickly leave the store to avoid a shutdown. This means that I end up being banned from stores when I have not stolen anything, but because it looks like I am acting like I am.
Since covid things are 100 times worse because they have one aay systems and queues. It it the queueing where I am most likely to get a shutdown as I don't like being trapped and hemmed in. In the past before covid I would be walking round a store in a loop for several minutes or more waiting for the checkout queues to go down so I felt safe to queue in one. No chance of doing that under lockdown with their one way isle systems so supermarkets and most larger shops are no go areas for me.

I also have a strong dislike for them. I go with my friends on Welfare Wednesday so I don't feel stranded.

I don't like them either. I normally go really late at night when few people are around.

I haven't been to a supermarket for ages because they seem to be more crowded than ever before. I can't get a delivery slot online either, not even click and collect. Thank God for the small convenient stores.

I occasionally go to one of our small convenience stores (which is just two or three minutes' walk away), when I can't face the 1.5 mile round trip to the supermarket (and the half mile uphill walk with two heavy bags of shopping on the way back), but I certainly don't enjoy the 30% or so higher prices at the convenience store.

I go in once a week 30 minutes before closing. Get mostly the same stuff each time. Get in, get stocked, get out.

Only time I used to mind them was when it was December.

People need to realise that a lot of people are photosensitive. No flashing lights! Think it's bad for us aspies? Apparently epileptic people can die as a result of a seizure caused by flashing lights.

But oh. They're 'fun'
