I was talking about how I was having difficulty forming relationships in my 30's and someone on here said I need to have an adventure to spice up my life. Not a bad idea. So I came up with a few ideas on my own and wrote them down. It was only like 5 ideas though and some of them might not be now but in the future when I have the money. So if anyone here has some ideas of what I could do for adventure (that do not cost a fortune) that would be great. I live in Canada btw so that might help people come up with ideas considering I have months and months of the damn cold winter to get through. lol But seriously they don't have to be only winter related adventure ideas. We got summer here too. 8)

hello, I recommend writing a list of the kind of things that you enjoy and excite you.
There are loads of options if you are free to do what you want with your time.

I would imagine even in your own home country, which has a fair variety of experiences available.
But if you are free to travel too, there are all sorts of ideas.

Not all have to cost a great deal of money, there are working holidays.
There are also some countries that are very cheap to travel to and live in.

For example. I have been to India a few times, which is a massive country that offers all sorts of adventures.
The second time I went to India, I travelled up and down India mostly on trains.
I met a few different people while there including some young woman.

One woman spent 6 months staying at an Sai Baba Ashram which cost her 25 rupee's for food / accommodation (which is about USD $0.50 per day.

I met another woman who spent most her time in a place called Rishikesh, which is a big yoga centre and home to the guru who the Beatles travelled to India to hang out with.

I myself, travelled from London, to Delhi, to the Golden Temple in Amritsa (Seik Temple), then to Dharmashala (where the Tibetan monks live in Exclie), back to Delhi on coach, then to Agra (Taj Mahal), back to Delhi, then to Varanasi (Holy city to Indians, big on Indian Traditional Music), trip to Sarnath (where the historical Buddha gave his first Sermon), back to Varanasi, then to Bodhi Gia (where the Buddha gained enlightenment), then back to Varanasi, then from Varanasi to Chennai on a 36 hour sleeper train, then from Chennai to Pondicherry, from Pondicherry to big Hippy peace and love community called Auroville, then from Auroville to Chennai, flew from Chennai to Mumbai, before flying back to London and then back home to the tiny Island that I live on.

Didn't cost that much, got hotels / food when i got to India.
On average, spent between 300 - 1000 rupees per day on hotel, and not that much on food.
Flight cost like $500 return. Spent 6 weeks over all.

Was 45 degree's celsius.

All really interesting and fun. And I only went to a tiny bit of what was on offer.

Things can be done on a shoestring budget.
One of my future plans is take a trip to Japan, to study martial arts and culture.
But that's just me.

As mentioned, if you are young enough, there are still loads of opportunities for working abroad
including some really cool projects that save lives etc.

But depends on what your into.

Just coincidentally, when i was at Uni studying music engineering, i recorded some music for a pretty young woman also called Sarah Smith. Very nice girl, petite, black curly hair, beautiful features. Looked perhaps a bit Jewish.

Imagine Sarah Smith is likely a quite popular name though, like John Smith.

If you are both in good physical shape, go to a snowboard vacation in Whistler (Blackcomb) in BC. 8) In the summer, perhaps canouing or hiking weeks/weekends. I'm not Canadian, and I've never been there (to far away), nonetheless I'm sure that there are plenty of outdoor vacations available. :)

Oh, one last suggestion: a parachute jumping vacation. This will definitely take you out of Kansas.

As a musical term for sure, "the '80s" imply the late '70s and early '90s. You can think of them as tapers of this golden decade.

That's interesting that you met a different Sarah Smith. I'm not the woman you described though. I look totally different because my ancestry is mostly from the UK and Germany. Yes I imagine that is a common name.

Don't really want to go to India but enjoy watching other peoples travel videos of India. The working abroad thing sounds neat. Don't know what I'd be good for though and I'm no good at learning different languages. I will look into it though.

HHmmm. Maybe I could go camping. That would be fun I know a good camp ground. I just need a small tent. Another thing to add to my list. Thankyou for making me think about that! :)

A bicycle that is good at carrying luggge like a touring bike or a hybrid and a solid rack and a nice pair of panniers and a tent and sleeping bag. Bicycle lights can double up as a torch... A simpke tool kit, spare inner tube and a pump and you should be fine. Waterbottle and cage. I usually need two waterbottles. But yes. An adventure! :D

The Sarah Smith who I worked with in the recording studio, was English, although like I say, she had an eastern look about her, but they may have just been her style. Not sure. Nice easy to get on with girl, her music was ok too.

Oh I see you left some links up there. Thanks! Looking through some of those has given me some ideas. It would be nice to visit Niagara falls because it's not to far to travel. Also, there is an eco village opening up in my town. Should be completed in a year or so I think I remember reading. So hopefully they would let me volunteer there. If not I could at least visit the eco village.
