Does anyone ever wish to come back from the dead every 100 years to see exactly how much technology advanced? I wish I could. I often wonder how Ben Franklin would react to what is happening now with technology. If anyone ever wants to send me a PM about anything at all, please do so. :)

I'd love to come back in 100 years to see how everything has changed. Not just technology, but society as well. I'd like to see a better world for LGBTQ people as well as people with all disabilities. A better world for autistic people, where Autism Speaks no longer is around. I'd like to see a world where Germans are no longer called Nazis. I'd like to see a world without war. I'd also like to see technology that would convert sea water into drinking water so that sea levels will not rise. I'd like to see what television and the Internet will look like 100 years from now. I'd also like to see glow in the dark trees that will light up the streets and sidewalks.

I make a living (when I can) dealing with developing technologies that aren't widely used yet. The future is pretty serious stuff IMO. I like to think my real livelihood consists of trying to see through these changes for others.

I should point out that my cell phone now has 4 times the memory of the first laptop I got, which is 32 times what my first computer had. My big laptop now has 256 times the memory of that little Dell.

Perhaps I should have doubled those last figures anyway. 8O

I imagine somebody from 1921 coming back to the world in 2021 would be amazed at the concepts of TV, internet and computers as they would not have existed back then,

But they already had phones and cars so the idea of cars and mobile phones shouldn't be too earth shattering not to mention they would be surprised we are still earth bound and nobody lives in space given Jules Verne has already predicted going to space in space ships?

"Glow in the dark trees"?

Thats an interesting concept. Never thought of that before.

There are bioluminescent organisms. And I suppose that they could manipulate the DNA of trees to make them glow at night (Like fireflies glow). So city streets could have glowing trees to light the way for pedestrians.

DNA will be a major field of technology in the future.

Gawd knows what they might do with to manipulate humans, and other organisms.

They might be able get humans to regenerate missing limbs.

I sometimes imagine the streets being lit up by swimming\moving bioluminescent octopus in huge tanks. Maybe squid. The bioluminescent bacteria seen on waves is like a starry sky, gorgeous. If you get in it leaves a trail.

Who's to say we don't already do that via some sort of infinite cycle of reincarnation? Or who's to say that once we depart our physical bodies we can't monitor those things amongst the living? Not really sure what we can't and can't view after the end.. but I might have a better idea someday after I've blasted off on DMT. :D

These have already been genetically engineered by splicing bio-luminescence genes from fish into plants and they do exactly that - charge up in the sun & glow at night. AFAIK they're still the stuff of research projects and aren't available for consumer sales yet - but they're coming. It's going to be super cool for cities to be able to buy these trees and dot them along pathways and things to light areas up at night w/ no electric lights, just glowing trees that look super cool. If glowing tree seeds were available right now I'd have probably already bought some and started growing some just for fun. Nooooo idea what something like this is projected to cost, but it'd be about the coolest looking tree one could grow IMO.

Who is to say we do?

Personally, I would not mind waking up in the next life with a new body and a new identity, provided I would be in a situation that is at least as good as the one I am in now, and that I could remember and re-use both the knowledge and the wisdom I have learned in this life.

Imagine ... skimming through primary school like it was a walk in the park ... having confidence as an adolescent ... making the Dean's List without breaking a sweat ...

That would not be my first choice. I'd rather find out without dying.

Trees are really not that hard to grow either as leafiness plants.

Reincarnation? Your frog has no business in our marriage!

i would desire to just be left alone in the unknown without any records of my existence. enough living and crapfish.
