Why do more men smoke pot than women?

I'm not into it, but I've noticed that all my male friends do it regular, compared to their gfs or my female friends who seem to have no interest in it. The male interest is definitely higher. I also read this statistic that says men do it a lot more:

So I am wondering, why is it that men do it more than women? Is it maybe a feminism thing, and it's not as acceptable for women yet perhaps? It use to be unnacceptable for woment to drink or smoke for example, way back in history, but maybe marijuana just hasn't caught on the feminism band wagon yet? Or if not that, then why aren't women as interested?

Men are more likely than women to take risks with their health and safety in exchange for a brief "high".

Oh okay, but there women out there who take just as many risks as men with their health in other ways though, such as drinking, cigarettes, or eating candy for example. So why are women willing to take just as much risk there then?

Why don't you present the statistics that show your questions are based on facts rather than assumptions?

Oh well I am just going by people I know.

It might be different depending on where you live and your age group.

When I was in high school a good amount of people smoked pot, and I heard probably just as many girls as guys talking about doing that.

It's been legal in my state for a little while so people get a hold of it easier, and it's more liberal in my area so no one's afraid to talk about using it. I was always baffled at other kids talking about smoking pot like it's nothing. Some even talked about having a THC vape with them.

I grew up during the early rave scene. Everyone smoked pot.
Most girls smoked loads of weed, especially after raves, chilling out as they were coming down off other drugs.

Pot is still pretty popular, although and unfortunately, has been replaced by some by stronger drugs such as heroin, cocaine and even crystal meth.

To be honest, these days pot is very popular and medicinal cannabis is legal even in the UK, and psychedelic cannabis is legalised in some of the states in the US.

I would say that some woman may go through a phase smoking loads of pot, then perhaps have their fill and stop.
Some woman may not like the effects it has on them. Others may not like the way they look on pot.

I used to smoke loads of pot between the ages of 15 and 23. With the odd period not smoking.
When i was in my early 20's...
I went to Amsterdam for a few weeks, spent loads of money buying the best pot you could buy, watched Bunny Wailer and the Wailers play the Milky way (Melkweg) which was probably the best gig i had been to.

I did smoke too much during this period and ended up getting too stoned and not liking it.
So gave up.

I think pot can also be good for couples having sex. As pot does make can make sensory things more intense, make sex more enjoyable. That's what i have experienced any how. For sure, pot can make a person really horny... perhaps even last longer... I can't remember exactly, as I was too stoned...

I don't bother with pot so much any more. although still really into making psychedelic music (reggae/funk/psychedelic rock and dance music) that you would listen to when smoking pot.

Women don't want to go around smelling like poo and that's what Pot smells like. Horse poop.

Bloodshot eyes aren't attractive?

Women are obsessed with thinness, and men are not.

Smoking tobacco suppresses your appetite.

Smoking weed stimulates your appetite.

So...

More women than men smoke cigarettes, and fewer women then men spoke pot.

I'd guess that in places that it's legal it's more socially acceptable for men than women. That's the case with smoking here, and also with heavy drinking. Drinking's socially acceptable for all genders where I'm from, but women who "get wasted" are generally more frowned upon than men who do it.

I suppose there's that too, but women being "obsessed with thinness" compared to men is highly likely to be a result of being fat or just chubby being more socially acceptable for men than women. Here, at least. Not entirely sure about other countries, though I'd guess it's the same in many places.
