I enjoy watching the Summer and Winter Olympics on TV. It's a special interest of mine.

Watching professional sports hasn't really been "a thing" for me,
but I like playing badminton; singles & doubles.

My NT girlfriend is very much the same, but enjoys playing volleyball whenever she can.

I follow tennis. That's about it.

Nope. I used to go to hockey games when I was in elementary school but I’m not an athletic person.

About the only sport I will watch is snooker. If any other sport comes on the channel gets changed very quickly because many I was forced to play at school which made me hate them even more.

Not at all. Watching sports of any kind is about the most boring thing I can think of (and the noise of the crowd at most sporting events, even on TV, is very hard on my ears), I have yet to find an exception. I might enjoy solo sports if not in an environment where I had to meet any standards (unlike, say, in PE class), but it’s another one of those things where I’ve grown up being told that my best isn’t good enough, which prevents enjoyment.

I guess I'm not alone in that then.

I have never been interested in sport of any kind - participating or watching.

The fact that so many take it seriously seems ridiculous to me - even though I do understand the various theories of, preening, exerting dominance, social / tribal bonding and escapism from dull routine and everyday life etc.

It depends. Am I around someone I like who also likes sports, then in that case I do. I will go 100% in and learn all I need to require for said sport/s and watch it with them.

If it's just me home alone then no as I have other interests that hold my attention more.

Ironically if I have gaps in friends with sports that over lap I have to relearn most the sport again as I forget about it quickly once the relationship is lost.

While I know people have varying interests, I am surprised just how many people seem so fanatical about sports, and I'm a total 180 in the other direction.

I do sometimes wonder if some sports fans aren't really as into them as they claim, but it's social suicide to lack interest in sports, so they go along with it.

I think the poll needed different options.

I enjoy a sport or two but don't really want to play it other than socially. And watch some if I'm in the mood for it.

I don’t like watching sport and I don’t like participating in it.
When I was school-age I would not admit this and I tried my best at sport and I got an inferiority complex because I was so Bad at sports.
I saw it is a slur on my character.
