I love the taste of Chocolate Royale Slim-Fast. I don't buy it, because it has 14 grams of sugar per serving. I'm better off eating real food than drinking something that has 14 grams of sugar, twice a day.

It depends. Sometimes I get hang ups about food and would refuse to eat something so high in sugar. Right now though, my food hangs ups seem to be minimal and I'm enjoying indulging in sugary goodness now and then. So today, oh yeah, I'd totally buy 'em if they sounded good to me.

I avoid most candy (especially chocolate) as much as possible.

Your body will transform food into sugars anyway...

Sure.

Even IF I'm in the mode of being super disciplined about eating very healthy I still might buy something like that to have as a once in a while treat.

It wouldn't be part of my daily diet, but something I might eat once every week or two. Nothing wrong with having a treat now and then. It doesn't have to be for dinner every day. :)

I've always been a very picky eater who loves fast-food & junk-food & some various sweets. I also love fried seafood but I seldom get that now since I moved from Louisiana to Vermont, it's NOT the same  I never really cared how unhealthy my food is if I really like it. I eat more variety of food than I used to but I still eat very unhealthy. I need to exercise more & I'm trying to cut down on my snacks & bing-eating a little. I also cant afford to keep eating like that(need more money coming in). It's very hard to do this time of year thou cuz the Easter candy is out. I really like Cadbury caramel & Cadbury cream eggs & I can eat a few in a day. I also generally really like peanut-butter & chocolate like some of the Reeses candy. I'm a fat bastard wondering if anybody gets that reference

If it was a one off treat and I really fancied it then yes.

These things are meant for occasions.

It depends on if my period was due or not. I can generally control my diet most of the time so probably wouldn't get it but if it was 1-3 days before my period I stuff myself with sugary sweets as I crave them so badly.

In answer to the thread title yes please!

And the actual question; Possibly but I've have to ensure there was nothing I am allergic to in it.

The line you could use is "I'm sweet enough already" which is something my Dad sometimes says when he's asked if he takes sugar in his tea.

As an occasional treat, yes, but not if I knew I wouldn’t be reasonable with it. I’m currently trying to cut down my sugar intake, but I’ve heard that it’s better if you don’t entirely deny yourself treats, just make sure that they really are just occasional and reasonably portioned.

I am no expert. I have done some basic nutrition lessons during the level 2 Judo Coaching Cert I did a couple of years ago.

I am also into dieting at the mo, as over the years due to poor housing, i did put on weight
(as the housing drove me to drink lots of vodka and eat lots of bad food).

Am fairly good at the mo at losing weight. Been losing between 1 and 2 kg per week for the past 10 weeks.
Will hopefully lose another 10 kg in the next 10 weeks. :-)
Just been on a calorie controlled diet. Eating between 1200 and 1400 calories a day.

How our bodies turn food into energy

Just out of interest... re eating sugar

I think that a couple of doses of sugar does help to give the body energy to sustain itself through the day.
Over the past few months, i have been drinking a black coffee with lots of sugar each day. (big 12 or 14 oz coffee with 6 sugars in)

After a 100 gram bowl of porridge with 2 teaspoons of sugars each morning.
That gives me enough energy to get on with for most the day.

I also keep a litre bottle or two of water handy. To keep me going.
This makes me feel full for most the day until tea time, where i have my next meal.

Like i say, this start to the day has helped me lose 10 kg over the past two months.
Plan to keep it going. So the sugar burst does kind of help and gives your body something to get on with rather than running on empty.

They give sick people glucose (lucozade) in order to help people recover from sickness, as it doesn't need any energy to process. Probably not the best diet supplement. Good for a quick burst of energy if your a sports man though!

You are like me, I love fried seafood, there used to be this restaurant that had fried shrimp, my fave. I don’t get fried food alot, I don’t even order lasagna & spaghetti alot, lasagna has 800 calories. I got Halloween candy for a treat last year, I don’t usually buy candy. I can eat alot in day too, but they were the small candies in the bag.

I’m not going to buy the cheesecake snacks, it’s the jell-o strawberry cheesecake snack cups, those little cups. When I was younger, I used to have willpower, but donuts are my weakness. My mom owed a preschool, some people bring the teachers sweets sometimes, candy, donuts,I forgot the rest, they would bring dishes too for lunch. When they were donuts in the kitchen, I would stay in the kitchen or sneak in the kitchen to pig out. I MISS those days, I used to help the teachers, I LOVED those days
