It was a pleasant surprise to him on today's edition of the Daily Mirror right here.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/money/delivero ... y-23790703

He himself even confirmed here to the question I asked.

Just thought i'd let you know.

Hahahaha what a completely misleading title but now you politely put it this way, I might as well start war with Deliveroo (literally).

If you have read carefully, I didn’t make £500m, search up William Shu or Will Shu on google. Although I do wish I made that amount. Even if I made that amount, I wouldn’t dare exploit any of my workers.

My part of the article was actually having the moped stolen and being attacked by 8 people.

So yes, glad to be on the papers and this part is to also raise such awareness with Deliveroo.

I guess that’s great news.

Also to add, this took place a year ago.

I also want to add that this article talks about it in much greater detail.

Thanks for posting that Blint and Ian! So sorry to hear what happened to you Ian, that they stole your bike and hope you’re alright! I’d watched a programme on tv pre-covid about delivery bikers being routinely mugged and attacked, their bikes stolen in certain parts of London and to learn that it’s happened to you!

Good to see the situation with Deliveroo being highlighted! Talk about being underpaid! That’s wonderful that your Dad bought you a new bike to replace the stolen one. My eldest son was attacked in London too, some years back. He didn’t report it, but it was caught on CCTV cameras, the gang was convicted and he was sent a cheque as compensation. Hope you stay safe and manage to sleep better again soon. Hugs

Anyone here care to translate the basic topic of this into American? :)

Does the topic of this thread have anything to do with the above longtime WP member known as "Superboyian"?

What is "Deliveroo"? (must be sumpin like Grube or Gooble - some new internet based food delivery service).

Yes, it does have something to do with me.

Deliveroo is a food delivery service (yes like Grube or Gooble).

Thankfully I’m ok and thank you Blint for posting this. I can’t stress how important this message is to get out there.

It’s horrible how much crimes goes on in some parts of London, understandably I could see why he didn’t report it? Could it be because he must have known any of the people that attacked him and didn’t want to report them out of fear?

I’m glad there was compensation which was fantastic. Wish this was the case in my situation. Not even from the company.

Only time will tell if anything changes.

For many who are attacked, it is down to knowing who the attackers are, but he was just going through alot back then and didn’t want any further hassle. He would report now, were it ever to happen again. It’s pretty shocking that you received no compensation for what you went through and for the loss of your bike!

Saw this today ... Concerns over workers’ rights is effevtively taking its toll on Deliveroo it seems ...
