How do you shorten "mathematics"?

To "math" or "maths"? I use "math".

I am Polish and Polish schoolkids shorten "matematyka" (mathematics) to just "matma" But I never shortened this in such a way when I was a kid/teen because I always used to find slang expressions vulgar, then

I shorten it to "math". I'm from the U.S.

Maths.

Because I'm not American.

Americans, like me, say "math".

Brits say "maths".

Not sure how the rest of the Anglosphere does it (Canada, Australia, NZ, or South Africa).

Americans call the last letter of the alphabet "zee". But Canadians do it the British way and say "zed".

Never thought about it before, but "mathematics" ends with an "s". So the abbreviation should to.

I suppose that we Americans conceive of math as being like sand or water. Though plural it comes to you en masse like sand or water.

Its maths for me

"Matematika"
"Matematiks"

Hmmm.. No.

"Sipnayan"

.. Sigh.

I'll just go with just Math.
Because from where I came from, it is based on the US education system after all.

Maths. Though using math is fine. Just not what I'm used to.

As an Australian, I say “maths”.

Math for me.

I open the “hood” to gain access to my car’s engine. I put my shopping in the “trunk” of my car. I get “gas” at the “gas station.” I park my car in the “parking lot.”

Neither. I say "numbers go brrr."

Or say "Ma..."

I'm in Canada and I say math.

In Arkansas they say "meth".

Some there even go on to study "higher meth".
