I use stick deodorant. I have not tried the spray kind. I found I didn't like other spray on things in the past because they get on more things than I want them to, and I also do not like breathing in the particles in the air. Also, I have one kind of deodorant I like, and I don't know if they make a spray kind.

Neither. I didn't wear deodorant for years because I don't like the way it feels and I was concerned about my body absorbing some of the potentially hazardous ingredients.

Several months ago, I started rubbing a few drops of essential oils underneath my arms as deodorant.

Spray. Some time back, spray deodorant was criticized for being detrimental to the ozone layer. You don't hear much about that anymore.

spray deodorant? I didn't know that was a thing...but I'd much rather have that than chalky or goopy sticks it usually comes in.

Yeah, there's aerosol spray. There's also rollerball liquid applicators - but I've only ever seen that packaging from Avon.

And the one I use is literally just a stick of salt with a rounded end.

Those Avon rollerball applicators suck, or at least the deodorant sucks. My mom used to sell some avon when I was a kid so she'd get me and my siblings avon like bath sets. But yeah I recall that deodorant sucked or at least for me did not do the job...but I certainly tried it out.

But a stick of salt, does that really help with the like armpit odor? sounds interesting but just not sure I'd trust that to do the job.

Yes, it really helps. It's pretty commonly used by people that have allergies to the chemical stuff or just don't want to absorb the aluminim something something in typical deodorants/antiperspirants. It costs like $6-8 or so and lasts for several months, maybe a year or more - basically until you drop and break it and then it has sharp jagged edges. I tend to run the end under the tap for a split second before applying it so it's more effective.

Here's a pic of one of several brands:

Spray deodorant. I've just never liked the feeling of roll-on or stick deodorant.

Surely, the relevant issue here is ingredients? Most use alumin(i)um, which is one of those rare elements the human body has no use for, and so best avoided. Good luck in finding either spray or roller that has none! Happily, having once had a serious problem with smelly feet, I seem to have outgrown this problem (I can still smell others’ BO…).
