ok. first i know im not the nicest guy around so i dont expect sympathy, but i am posting on a forum where it seems like

1. the rules only apply to me, nobody else

2. once i say anything about me being treated unfairly i either get ignord, (so i go away) or nothing gets done.

this is a serious problem as im trying to be a nice person online and follow all the rules at whatever board i am posting on.

:?

Yes i also have this problem a lot. the rules are only enforced when it suits.
At least on the internet they can't tell what color your skin is.

Sorry you're troubled today, Richard! Kudos for trying to improve yourself, so to speak. :D

The rules apply to all members but with 815,000+ post and thousands members it impossible to keep track of everything. Odds are if you do not upset anyone you will never be noticed. If someone PM a moderator that they are being harassed usually gets you noticed
quickly for example.

I do agree that Richard really is trying to follow the rules to the best of his ability and his ability to do that has gotten a lot better. I ran a test on a many members posts histories and came up with data on those with the most removed posts. And while RB was higher than average its was alot lower than those clearly ID-ed as trolls.

No a troll is a person who uses negative means to get attention for himself.

Well, on most sites "troll" is a useful label to pin to someone in order to justify banning them. It's a bit like the word "witch" in the 17th century: you just had to assert someone was a witch, and the mob will say "burn her". On the internet someone with power and authority can assert you're a troll, and the mob will respond with "ban them".

Well in the last ban a troll told two people in the Haven to kill themselves so these witches really be witches sometimes.
