Elaborate wedding - yay or nay?

This wedding happened in the city I live in. It’s not uncommon for there to be 3 day Indian wedding parties as there are more than 100,000 Indo-Canadians in the city and it’s just how they do weddings. I’ve been to a couple; quite the parties!

It IS uncommon for Indo-Canadian celebrities to get married and have a wedding party this elaborate:

50 noise complaints, parking tickets and tows.. lol no “tent permits,” - yes, tent permits exist BUT almost no one ever gets a tent permit so that’s just a bs infraction for the sake of adding to the list. Another article said they may have broken covid rules about crowd sizes etc - possibly; but at least it’s less of a concern now that most people are vaxxed vs earlier on when Indian weddings were mini super spreaders here.

Overall, my take is:

Congratulations on your wedding! I hope you had a fantastic celebration. and if I lived very nearby I might have wandered over for a drink vs phoned to complain that people were celebrating their marriage more elaborately than I could afford to do.

About the only thing that would irritate me is ignoring covid rules IF they did so. I’m not even sure what the exact limitations are today because they keep changing. But I do know that bars are still not allowed to have dancing/dance floors, so maybe that ?? But not sure if that applies to residences. Otherwise possibly crowd size if we’re currently still limited to x number of people outdoors.

..but apparently this was a “prime Karen,” moment for some neighbours. (IMO)
