If you haven't read Dante's Divine Comedy I recommend doing so regardless of your religious beliefs (I'm atheist). This work of Catholic fan fiction isn't just a literary masterpiece, it forms the basis of nearly all popular views on what heaven, purgatory, and especially hell are actually like--a subject barely touched on in the Bible itself.

Kudos to you for reading it.

I read a lot and can handle some quite difficult texts but I found that one impenetrable.

It's public domain so you can download it on a phone or tablet from Google Books for free.

Rather just blast off on DMT and check out all the different rooms & temples in the other dimension sometime than read fiction about it.

Drugs over books? I've got a song for you. Sing it to the tune of the Reading Rainbow theme.

I see butterflies in the sky
Every time I get high
Take a look
At what a meth lab can cook!
Snorting plenty of blow!

I can see colors man!
Let's toke some smoke
And shoot some dope
Snorting plenty of blow!

Divine Comedy is fascinating. Good taste!

Why choose? Both can be mind-altering. Both can be dangerous...

I don't share the NT view that intoxication is fun or hip.

I don't recall expressing that view. I merely suggested that anything that alters a human's perception, whether its an idea or a chemical, has value potentially, and associated risks.

Since when was that an inherently NT view?

I still remember my college days being considered odd and anti social because I wanted to read and study rather than smoke weed and get drunk all the time. I mean it's college isn't reading and studying what you should be doing?

Lol at comparing DMT to meth or cocaine.

DMT is called “the spirit molecule,” for a reason. It facilitates interactions with gods and entities in the other realm. More real world experience vs reading fiction about it.

Science some up and scientific method study your trip.

Fwiw, I’ve yet to do it - but I will sometime.

I've never even heard of DMT before this thread.

I think I read too much.

Is DMT the same thing as "ecstacy"?

Read books about drugs. Problem solved.
I like both books and weed.Wouldn't mind some shrooms or good acid right now for the fall colors.
I hope to try peyote one day.
