Eh up, lads and lasses! 'Owzerbout makin' WP feel a little stranger, by phonetically writing in the accent you grew up around, and sayin' summat about it.

I grew up on the edges of the suburbs dividing Cheshire from Derbyshire, so heard a mix of Mancunian (the accent of the city of Manchester) and thuh countryfolk laike. (The members of the band Oasis speak Mancunian.) The country accent is one of the most ancient in England, though not Britain. Mancunian probably isn't more than a couple of hundred years old, if that, but is easier on Americans. :P

idaho is considered to have one of the most neutral accents in the country, which is why we have a lot of telemarketing/tech support centers here.

I've lived in central Indiana two-thirds uh my life but I was raised in Houston, Texas the first third. I don' have too much ov an accent, but I definly can't say I don' have one. But ironic-ly, I didn't even notice how thick the accents were down in the south until jus' a couple years ago.

My Father is of Southern descent and so my speech has a distinctly Southern ring to it and I use a good deal of Southern slang. My mother being Scottish gave me a hint of it in my voice. This is combined with the fact I grew up in the Pacfic Northwest, where we beat our Rs like dead horses. This combined with the fact my tone reminds people of Doctor House gives the sound of arrogance and egomania.

I have a "unique" voice to say the least.

My accent is pretty boring (a typical "intellectual" and deep Australian); I took speech therapy when I was little so I do pronounce most words I haven't heard spoken aloud correctly. My "overly formal" speech is usually accompanied by the voice of a gentle storyteller.

When I type to my partner I drop letters and speak how I do to people when I’m comfortable with them.

I have a newscaster accent, so I don't really know how that's possible.
I could make myself do a foreign accent, though.

Gaun' yersel big man,at's a stoatir o' a guid idea.Ah huvnae hud an oppurchancity tae speak lik this fur yonks since ah wis a wean.

Translation from Glesca (i.e. Glasgow) west of Scotland patois
Well done sir, that's rather a good idea.I haven't had an opportunity to speak
like this for ages, since I was a young child.

The Scots accent or dialect developed from northern English and is sometimes
claimed by its enthusiasts to be a separate language.I don't go along with that myself
but even for standard English words there are different levels of meaning in Scots.
e.g. we're inclined to say that we 'stay' in a particular town rather than 'live' in it.

I couldn't even begin to work out how to type in a thick Canadian accent. The best I can do is to state that the name of the city in which I live is pronounced something like "TaRONna"
