Do you like your birthday? Do you like having birthday parties?

I love birthdays and birthday parties. Birthdays are a celebration of life, and life is the greatest gift of all.

I don't really like my birthday since it's often just a reminder that I'm getting further and further behind my peers. I also never had birthday parties and my birthday honestly usually just consisted of whatever my parents wanted + them arguing.

I'm happy one day, then sad the next.

My dad passed the day after I turned 12 back in 2002. He was 43.

I’m sorry. I can’t even imagine what that must’ve been like.

My NT sister and I went to an alternative school for our high school years.

Because of me being on the spectrum, I waited until I was a senior to tell everyone.
I knew for a fact that I would never see many of my peers ever again after graduation, I believed
waiting into senior year was the best time to tell as many peers as possible.

However, I'm still not surprised that the history teacher believed I was lying. :x

That’s something I have seen from other teachers: not believing a kid’s story unless it’s been validated by another teacher.

That really bugs me when I see it in action.

I’ve never had a birthday party. Sometimes my son and I will go out to eat or I’ll buy myself something special, though. I enjoy it.

Likewise

Furthermore birthdays remind me that I have zero "friends" and that 40 is already over the hill. On the decline. Nothing accomplished.

Zero

And my emotional resilience, social skills, alertness, academic intelligence, excretory talents, itching, weight gain, job skills. Rapidly getting much weaker and worse

And they were never that great in the first place

I won't mention it.

I like my birthday but I've never really had parties that I've thrown myself. Maybe next year I should. My birthday is in mid-spring, my favourite season. :)

I want the cake, just not the birthday.
