Depends on where you're coming from.....If you're coming from the UK, you certainly don't go east.

Do you know the way to San Jose?

The opening text says "armadillo" but the song title is "Is This The Way To Amarillo?"

You just might have to pass through Amarillo in order to get to California.

Never heard of them nor that song. I just know the one sung by Willie Nelson.

I always wanted a mention of Armadillos in that song.

Hey you, out there on the road
Always doing what you're told
Can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall
Breaking bottles in the hall
Can you help me?
Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall

Hey You by Pink Floyd from The Wall. The Wall and that song makes me think about having autism.

I was thinking of the Canned heat cover version of Wilbert Harrison's song.

Its my Seventies era, but I never heard/heard of the song before.

Apparently it was written by the American Neil Sedaka, but it became a hit in Europe first.

Am familiar with "Amarillo by Morning" by George Strait though. And with "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?".

Gosh... in this song, you can hear how much Elton John must have been influenced by Neil Sedaka. To me it sounds like a cross between "Candle in the Wind", and "Tiny Dancer". Am pretty sure it must be because the younger John was influenced by Sedaka, and not the other way around.
