I told my dad I thought I may be on the spectrum and I’m going to talk to a therapist. He was supportive and thought he may be a little bit too. He said if I do I’m still me so don’t let it define me or change me.

Yes, he’s awesome. I was really nervous and still have this feeling in my stomach after telling him. But it also felt kind of good.

Yep, can relate.
Anyway, success to you, and success to you and your dad's relationship.

It's rare when such a talk goes well for adult children. I wasn't so lucky...

Neither was I.

When I was diagnosed at the age of 13, my mom went crazy. :x

She has been in denial ever since.

@ OP: Remember that being on the spectrum is a part of your human essence.
Keep us updated! :D

If my own dad got through his treatments without any problems, I believe he would also
have been supportive. Even though he was certainly not on the spectrum, he would
taken plenty of time to understand the spectrum and what it meant for me.

He passed the day after I turned 12. :(
