Does anyone have the urge to just be enclosed in a private little space where an exit is easily accessible. Like, I sometimes have an urge to put a blanket completely over me like a little tent, but then it gets too hot. I just want a little space away from it all, if that makes sense. It feels so relaxing to think about.

Constantly.

I love small and mostly-enclosed spaces. Often I get the urge to go underneath tables and chairs. Feeling things around me like that gives me a sense of security.

I'd like to find a really cosy enclosed space with someone who's willing to tell ghost stories, or even just to put the world to rights with.

I liked confined spaces as a kid, and still do, though over time the hypervigilance that I've developed due to trauma and stress has made it hard to fully enjoy spaces like that. It makes me feel like I can easily get trapped/cornered now if something happened so they give me some anxiety.

When I was a kid I spent a lot of time sitting under the table and chairs or behind the sofa. Nobody knew where I was. I would also sit with a coat or a towel over my head. Nobody ever seemed to think it was weird and it just seemed natural to me. It just made me feel safe and comfortable.

No

I'm amazingly afraid of enclosed spaces.

I loved hiding under blankets as a kid :)

I am also afraid of enclosed spaces, especially in buildings. Comes from being locked up.

Yeah. Maybe it's why I've liked the wilderness so much my whole life, and why I like to know where caves are, so I can avoid them; it's maybe one of the reasons why I'm not really a fan of humans all that much either (not many humans in the wilderness). I can't pull a blanket over my head nor have it tight against me.

So uh, the wilderness will be my comfort zone.

I like to hang out in my neighbor's crawlspace.

Me, too.

I like small spaces if I'm alone in them and know I can get out. Don't put me in something like an elevator though. No. Just no. I'll gladly climb up ten flights of stairs if it means not getting into one of those things.

I'm all about cocooning myself in a blanket, packing myself into corners, making little tents in my livingroom...at one point in time, one of my kids had this little pop-up playhouse and I would sit in that thing when no one was home. It was nice and cozy. I miss that thing. Yeah. I'm all for small little spaces to go hide in and just 'be' for a while. So good.

Sorry to hear that one. Life can suck sometimes, or many times, depending. I think...recognizing the poor coping mechanisms I made and trying to change from that, has been the best for me. Some things you can't change fully though; I'm not comfortable in cars, but I do that one, even if I can't say, cover myself in a blanket fully. I have trouble being hugged by others, but if I can trust that person, then I can (this one will be both claustrophobia and haphephobia for me).

I like mesh tents for obvious reasons.

When I was at college, I regularly walked up nine flights of stairs if there was anyone else in or waiting for the elevator. Alone, no problem, with anyone else, nope, no way.

OK. I'm old...

I understand some people get claustrophobic when getting an MRI. I've had a few, now, and I rather like it in there. Having the "roof" a few inches above my eyes and being unable to see anything outside the machine makes me feel like I am in my own private cocoon.

...and I was very startled when the technicians reached in to adjust something! :o Eeek! Arms appearing from nowhere‼

It is not all fun being in there, though. I wish they'd have more-frequent itch-your-chin-or-nose breaks.
